We get paid by the state. Medicare and Medicaid, primarily. Self-pay is non-existent in that poor neighborhood.
So we can't just "raise wages" and pass it along to the customer. The state would have to pay us more in order to pay higher wages.
Dietary Aides make $15 minimum
CNAs make $17 minimum.
LPNs make $25 minimum.
And RNs make $33 minimum.
Not slave wages.
