Trump in Davos

Hold it!

Are you suggesting that we can each believe what we want to believe and so you therefore regret challenging my positions in the first place?

Very well then.
What is globalism then, and what do you support in contrast to globalism? It seems to me the options here are globalism, imperialism, and autarky.

I’m not sure he’s physically present - I thought I read that it was a zoom thing?

He has a trip planned to North Carolina and then SoCal tomorrow and that would be a tough slog.
There are some tough things being said that the Europeans never like.
LOL Milei (Argentina) who is not exactly a shrinking violet said Davos is crumbling. 😲
Jamie Dimon earlier this week sort of lent support to Trump (hmm - planned?) by giving hints he thought tariffs might not be horrible if it meant the US would be more “secure”.

FYI I am not sure the majority of Americans are paying close attention to Davos because Trump is so busy issuing EO’s every fifteen minutes here at home. 🤪
It was a video, he “clearly” is not in Davos. He didn’t talk about himself a lot. The op was @bcherod so not surprising it is largely made up. The video is online and available to be viewed.

So have we abandoned the "living on a globe" definition?

Well the the textbook version is some kumbaya vision of everyone living in peace and harmony through interconnectedness. In practice though, it sounds much more like Klaus Schwab.

"Globalism" is just international commerce. Which happens to be very capitalistic in nature and compatible with the interests of the participants in the WEF who are capitalists. Your conception of this is very Bircher like (which is to say it reminds me of the people who thought Eisenhower was a commie).

Oh puhleese.

You wanna know what I think international commerce is called? International commerce.

Please Google "globalism."

Oh, if one of y'all could comment on the "You will have nothing" thingy I'd be much obliged.

Absolutely. I’m wondering where some of the posters have been, and if they have had any instruction in political theory, global economics, etc.

The global economy began in earnest under Reagan and Bush 41. I believe it was Clinton did NAFTA.

Those things have evolved through both Republican and Democrat presidents.

What we have today is nothing remotely similar.

The last time we had this bizarre sense of isolationism, and we are the best, is after WW1.

But I truly not surprised with the ignorance of so many.

It is indeed true, “those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it”.

We are seeing this first hand.

Can anybody list what happened after WWI and what happened economically around the world, especially in the US?

We had the roaring 20s, no? Now we have the New Golden Age!

Do yo even know what the roaring’20’s was all about and what was going on?

No, I didn’t think so.

List three relevant things that affected the country during that time. I bet you can’t.

The era of the automobile took off

Did Trump fly home from Davos yet? lol.

Did you have some time to look up Jack Smith’s prosecutorial misconduct yet? I wonder why you’re silent when you get called out on your made up bullshit.

Also, why should the poster have to name anything for you? You’re the one who should be used to taking orders. I’m certain you’re in no position to be giving orders.

I hope Champ doesn't destroy me in my own thread.
