Trump speaks to Republicans like they are idiots all the time, even going so far as to say "I love the poorly educated," and noted that he could murder someone on the street and it wouldn't shake their support and loyalty. But sure — Democrats talk to voters like they're idiots.
You don't think Democrats have warned that Trump and the people around him are arsonists? You don't think Democrats have let people know who's to blame for January 6, the Covid response, or any other of his seemingly endless controversies since he joined the political world? Seriously?
Yes we are. We used to think we were different than other countries, it can't happen here. Well, it has happened and it will continue to happen long after trump is dead unless smart people can convince the general public into voting for normal people.
The problem is, the democrats are fighting the wrong fires. Yes, those fires are important but to the general public they're not as important as other fires. The democrats need to move their fire fighters to the fires that people care about, then the fires you mentioned will mean something.

You're just not getting it. You're focused on the wrong fires. To the people, the democrats are starting the fires, at least the fires the people care about, such as the boarder. People aren't caring about the trump fires (at this time).
The “right” fires aren’t fires at all. The GOP yells “FIRE!” to focus people on a fake issue they have no desire to fix because they know they can’t fix any real “fires”. The entire strategy is based on building a non-existent platform to address non-existent problems so they can stay in power. Staying in power is the only goal. Beyond lining their own pockets, they have zero desire to use that power to make anything better.
Listen, I'm probably one of the biggest proponents for DEI on this board, but I'm also a realist when it comes to people and their views. If everyone was like me, Harris would have been elected. But what's ironic about your post is that I'm not a moron, I understand that black men don't want to vote for a women (black or white). Black people in general don't really like Jews. Christians tolerate Jews. I know because I have family that consists of minorities. Have you ever been sitting around a table and had a person say to you or your family member, "I don't like Jews but I like you". That has happened multiple times with me present. The funny thing is, the people making the comment think they're giving a compliment. That's how stupid people truly are.
The democrats need to do much more than messaging, they need to change their focus to include what people really want.

As a trump voter I really like to hear from him and hear what he has to say... Sometimes I admit he comes out a little quick with some ideas that maybe he should sit on for a while... Or maybe he's playing you guys somehow... If that's the case it's brilliant but I don't know...
