It certainly doesn’t mean the conviction will stand. Amy at least will vote to throw that out. To get a stay Trump had to have shown that he was going to suffer immediate harm from not having the stay. Since there was zero chance he was going to jail and this simply allows the appeal to proceed he couldn’t show he was being harmed by allowing it to go forward.

Maybe he could have been locked away and the Republican Party would have someone much better starting a presidential term soon. Instead the county is stuck in a pissing match for another 4 years.

I’m sorry. You’re wrong. I wish you weren’t. But you’re wrong. SCOTUS has made up a presidential immunity protection. They, and they alone, decide what counts for official duties. They will say that some of the evidence used to convict him was obtained from conduct that was part of his official duties. They will throw out the conviction.

Well, it's common knowledge the jury was comprised of all Democrats hell bent on convicting him.
The trial judge admitted evidence obtained from when Trump was President. SCOTUS will say that evidence was inadmissible and will throw out the conviction. You know that SCOTUS can throw out a state conviction? Do you think that this court needs any real reason to throw out a Trump conviction?

These acts happened before he was elected in 2016. How could he have presidential immunity before he was ever president?
Because evidence was presented at trial that pertained to his presidency. For instance conversations that occurred during his presidency. They will say that evidence should not have been presented to the jury because it was covered by immunity.
