Don't bother to get the story right- just follow your lemmings
Tell the "right" story. I'm sure everyone on this thread would love to hear what you have to say.

Read the transcript. The Trump remark that the reporter says was about a database was actually about a wall.Mind explaining how it's bogus?

I don't know, LC. Here's the rest of the exchange right here:Read the transcript. The Trump remark that the reporter says was about a database was actually about a wall.
Relevant part:
Reporter: "Should there be a database system that tracks the Muslims that are in this country?" Trump: "There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it. But right now we have to have a border. We have to have strength, we have to have a wall, and we cannot let what's happening to this country happen again."
Reporter: "Is that something your White House would like to implement?"
Trump: "Oh, I would certainly implement that, absolutely,"
So when Trump says you sign people up a different places, he's referring to what? Signing up people to help build the wall?Relevant part:

Either Trump doesn't know what he's talking about and is easily tricked, or he really does believe that Muslims should have to self-identify similar to the Jews. Either way, Trump looks bad.So when Trump says you sign people up a different places, he's referring to what? Signing up people to help build the wall?
I'm thinking Trump's trolling now. It's like he's trying to see how outrageous he can get before his supporters say, "Holy shyte...this guy's nuts".
I don't think he's close to that point yet - I'm not even sure he can get there.
Either Trump doesn't know what he's talking about and is easily tricked, or he really does believe that Muslims should have to self-identify similar to the Jews. Either way, Trump looks bad.
Interesting. So a third option? Rile people up with incredibly insensitive remarks that brings up echos of the Holocaust. Not exactly the route I would take, but to each his own, I guess. He is trolling the American Political system. Once you see it you will stop being angry and instead be incredibly entertained.

Actually, I just got here on Wednesday. I'm one of the "Christians" they let in.But that is what trolls do, you've been here long enough to know that.

To ease your mind, at least, Nate Silver thinks he will tank during the primaries. Silver doesn't see a realistic pathway to his nomination. The primary process isn't setup to favor someone like Trump.
Right. How many government databases are we all a part of?Don't we all have to be "registered"?
And, none of them should exist. Having them doesn't equate to thinking we should have MORE of them!Right. How many government databases are we all a part of?
Yes, like the sex offender registry!Good call. Maybe we can also have an app where you can track the local muslims in your area to see where they are and what they are doing too.
LC, I would think that with as much as Trump does say that's problematic there is really no reason to make it up. It seems however that's exactly what they are doing. All the dems are falling for it too.So when Trump says you sign people up a different places, he's referring to what? Signing up people to help build the wall?
Yes, like the sex offender registry!
It doesn't. That was said about Carson in the same article . It turns out my inclination was right. The story turns out to a lie. When will gusto say he is sorry he believed itSo what does that have to do with the Trump comments above it?

Huey trump looks bad a lot. Which is why trying to tell a lie about what he actually did say makes no sense. This is no different than a few ago when Politico had to re write a story on Carson several times to get a lie closer to the truthEither Trump doesn't know what he's talking about and is easily tricked, or he really does believe that Muslims should have to self-identify similar to the Jews. Either way, Trump looks bad.
I said in the OP that I had to think Trump just wasn't thinking about what he was saying. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I agree when he says he'd implement that, he's talking about the wall. But can you explain what Trump was talking about when he was says "You sign them up at different places"? He's not talking about a wall there.LC, I would think that with as much as Trump does say that's problematic there is really no reason to make it up. I have no idea. The exchange is very confusing( much of that is the reporters fault) but to say that he defiantly said what they say he said is beyond belief untrue. Like the lie Politico tried to peddle about Carson, some reporters want to become famous by taking down a Republican and sometimes they have to lie to itI said in the OP that I had to think Trump just wasn't thinking about what he was saying. I don't understand what you are trying to say here. Are you saying I defiantly said he said that? Again, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he just wasn't thinking about what he was saying. But trying to blame this one on the media is pretty weak unless you can explain the "you sign them up at different places" line. Because he definitely said that. That's not a lie.I have no idea. I don't know, LC. Here's the rest of the exchange right here:
"NBC: Is that something your White House would like to implement?
Trump: I would certainly implement that. Absolutely.
NBC: What do you think the effect of that would be? How would that work?
Trump: It would stop people from coming in illegally. We have to stop people form coming in illegally.
NBC: But Muslims specifically? How would you get them registered?
Trump: It would be just good management. What you have to do is good management procedures. And we can do that.
NBC: Do you go to mosques and sign people up?
Trump: Different places. You sign them up at different places. But it's all about management. Our country has no management.
NBC: Would they have to legally be in this database?
Trump: They have to be. The key is people can come to the country, but they have to come in legally."
Now, it appears that the reporter was trying to stir up some controversy by suggesting it first, but Trump bit and agreed that he would require Muslims to register.

Guys, can you not think of better reasons to oppose Trump? If you need help, just let me know, and I can rattle off half a dozen off the top of my head that are better than this one.
Please list them. Just ten would be fine. You don't need to give the full dozen.
This gets my vote for the Clueless Comment of the Year Award. It's not our problem that there are millions of refugees and many are muslim.
Of course you are.Seriously, this is a terrible idea by Trump.
But as a mainstream republican, I'm happy he proposed it.
Someone has trouble understanding quotation marks. And denies facts in evidence without presenting contradictory evidence.Yeah, that would be somewhat radical.
That's not what he said, though.....
Good luck explaining that to clueless wingnuts. But I admire the effort. And other groups with terms like "progressive," "occupy," "open source software," and "medical marijuana" in their names.
