Do you tuck or untuck your shirts in the office? And how old are you when you started doing it?

I’m 36 and still rock the untucked polo. Not sure when the move to tucking in shirts happen but idk if that happens with my generation.

Depends on how big your gut is. I think skinny people can pull off untucked better than fat people, at least if your goal is to look professional. That said, if you have a big belly tucking in your shirt makes it far more noticeable on how large your belly is, but it does still look more professional imo. And wear a belt regardless of your size for a more professional look.

I don't wear polos to work so I guess never.

Long sleeve button down shirt for me, even in the summer.

Throw over some type of a sweater when it's cold. That can be a 1/4 zip or a V neck.

Don't wear ties anymore but my last job it was required.

Tuck unless it's designed not to be tucked.

I love polos. Not the flashy bright golf polos, but i like a nice fabric solid black polo. In fact, I'm wearing one now.

First off I think polos suck. I think they look sloppy for the most part. Either they accentuate people's pot bellies or they end up draped on slender guys.

That said I never tuck my polos in, I'm 6'2", generally they are too short to tuck in functionally. Most offices are pretty casual too including mine so I'll never tuck again, just more comfortable.

The only time you don’t “tuck” is when you aren’t wearing pants….or mowing the lawn. Jeeebus Kaaaaaristmas! Tuck your shirt in… you are a grown up.

I don’t think I have ever seen anyone with the top button fastened.
That was the style for millennials like 10 yrs ago.

It depends on the cut of the shirt, if it is designed to not tuck or athletic cut, don't tuck. Never tuck polos or button downs with jeans or chinos. Always tuck with khakis or dress. If tucked, always have a belt and matching shoes.

I never tuck in a polo when I wear one. I'll tuck in my undershirt if I know I am crawling around weird places doing IT stuff.

I’m nearly your height and 200 lbs. Solid but slim (no beer belly). I’m right on the edge of L and XL but unfortunately most XL are made for fat dudes. Finding an off the rack short sleeve shirt that fits well is like finding a diamond in the rough.

Im an athletic 6'3 220 lbs and buying online is a total crapshoot, but I tend to fit best in LT or XLT (if you can find them).

This is a bit of a silly question and it really boils down to where you work, your position, and job function..

In my experience, untucked polos are for IT, shipping and marketing types. C-suite, accounting, finance, legal should all tuck in and dress accordingly

Yeah I’m 190.

I either get a L that’s so tight it looks painted on or an XL where I look like a little kid wearing his dads shirt.

I’m in accounting and haven’t tucked a shirt in since probably before Covid. I work for a big corporation though and it feels like dress codes have really relaxed in the last 10-15 years.

It depends on who you are and where you are. You in a cube? Not meeting C-suite execs in board room, zoom only? Go for it.

If I'm WFH and making an appearance in the building, tuck it in.

Yeah that’s fair. I’ll probably never meet any execs in any formal way but if I were I wouldn’t even wear a polo, I’d have something nicer on.
