Some interesting news today from a few of the players. Spoke with Arland Bruce and he said that Padilla has been getting all the #1 reps and Hogan is with the #2 group. Appears Spencer is not going to be ready to go this week.
FWIW, we did not get any quarterbacks today which I kind of expected. I think Kirk wants Padilla to avoid distractions.
Also, Merriweather said that Riley Moss has been back at practice. Think he has a chance this week, but we will have to wait and see. No Roberts yet.
Defensive guys talked a lot about how the Gophers will go with their heavy packages along the line and that Morgan is very good in the RPO game. They said that even though they have lost their top three RB's the guys that are playing are still very good. Was interesting talking to Joe Evans, who is a touch over 6 foot and probably around 250 at best and he's going to line up at times against a guy who is like 6-8 and 400 pounds.
Arland has talked a lot about the good chemistry he and Keagan have with Padilla. It really all started in the spring because both of them were working mainly with the 2's so they worked with him a lot. He said he likes the way Deuce throws the ball too.
Also spoke with Gavin Williams today. He said the other RB's, including IKM, have been really helpful to him. He said Coach Betts has also been helpful in his transition up the depth chart to second string on the depth chart and more reps coming his way.
