"Tumultuous coaching search leads to AD John Currie's dismissal"

Perfect example how NOT to run a search for a new coach. The situation spun out of control for him when the Schiano deal went sideways. Then he was unable to lure Jeff Brohm away from Purdue indicated a severe disconnect with the college coaching fraternity. Tennessee is going to have to really overpay someone to get them to accept the job. With Currie's dismissal, I wonder if this will kill the potential Leach hire?

The best thing Tenn could do now would be hire a retread like Mike Riley to not sink the program for 2 years and let the dust settle. They would be way better off getting the coach they want in 2020.

With Fulmer being named AD, I'd be surprised if Tee Martin isn't the choice.

I also would have to believe Fulmer is being brought in for one reason, and that is to make this head coaching pick and merely bring a few months of stability to the department, then they go find an(other) experienced AD.

I thought he had a deal agreed to with Brohm that was then rejected by the university president for being too expensive

I'm not sure why Martin wasn't on their radar earlier. A Tennessee guy who's done well ass a coordinator- just seems to make sense.
