The better question is why has a dam that serves no purpose not been removed yet? Better for the environment, better for fishing, safer for boaters.
Maybe the heirs of Mr. Sears can pay for the removal?

We drove over the Mississippi at Dubuque yesterday, and even though the water looked high, there were a lot of people out there. Honestly I am surprised there have not then more deaths. I believe two people drowned up by Decorah? The water is high, and people were locked down for a long time. People let desire overcome caution.

The only thing wrong with that is that you selected black cherry. That is the worst flavor.

I managed to get through the entire fantasy draft and since without having a Claw. It is almost a badge of honor at this point. Seems like a heartburn waiting to happen.

Basically club soda and vodka except in a can. If that gives you heartburn then so will a claw.

So...no oars too I take it. Dunno about Illinois law, but Iowa law I believe states all boats need at least one oar, then depending on size I believe 2 are required.

I own an older boat and motor. 1980 for each. Motor runs perfect. However, I always take my trolling motor with me, too. Not necessarily that I will use it fishing (or even for a simple boat ride), but it guarantees I will get home if the engine dies.

It just goes to prove that boating can be dangerous.
You cannot have your kayak and eat it too.

Boating in the Quad Cities on the Majestic Mississippi
River is still a great thrill. As a young boy, my uncle
let me steer his yacht under the Bettendorf Bridge.
Of course it is now the Interstate 74 Bridge.
