Typical B1G Tournament Under Fran

Not sure what the deal is, but this is becoming a theme under Fran. Iowa goes to the B1G tournament and lays an absolute egg. It's like we go there and play some of our worst basketball. I am not sure if he's taking a page from Ferentz bowl prep or what's going on.

Indiana is tough.. I don't think this is about Fran as much as Indiana played great and Iowa couldn't match it

If You bet against Iowa Basketball in the post season post Davis You are a rich man , When they actually have made post season see Lick years.
 
Indiana was the last team I wanted to see Iowa play in the B1G tournament. Everybody was looking ahead to playing Wisconsin instead of taking one game at a time. Indiana is going to beat Wisconsin on Friday, and they just might play for the title on Sunday.

What's Frans career record in the BTT? Has Iowa won a tournament game in 4 years? I honestly can't remember the last win
 
This game isn't on Fran. I said it in the game thread that it hurt Iowa big time when Cook got his 3rd foul early in the second half. Indiana can't miss the entire second half, and Jok, Baer, and Cook were nowhere to be found on offense. I know everyone has heard this all all night and the beginning of the week but Indiana is a top 15 team WHEN they play like it.

Top 20 recruiting classes vs Iowa Boys.

Indiana was rated top 5 to start the year. They are a loaded team and played like it tonight.

Iowa was outmatched from the start.

1. NCAA tournament on the line and we get blown out by Indiana.
2. The others were against very low seeds in the B1G tournament.

It is really tough to argue this. Fran needs to get it figured out.

Wow, I did not see this beat down coming. The way Iowa has been playing I figured they would beat IU by 10- boy was I wrong.

Uh, no, they weren't. Iowa had players that forgot to show up in the second half.
 
Iowa under Fran in the postseason has been a grab bag of excuses for why we end up losing, whether it's the NCAA tourney, BTT or even in the NIT Finals against a Baylor team that "just had better athletes"............

-Opponent just outplayed us
-Iowa underperformed/played horribly
-Higher seed/better athletes
-Refs (MSU game)
-Opponent catches fire/lame duck coach win one for the gipper bullsh**/etc

It's basically pick an excuse out of the hat and that's gonna be why Iowa is out in their 1st game of the BTT, hurting their potential postseason seed (if it didn't cost them), and giving them zero momentum going into whatever tournament they play in.

Try....the f***......harder.

That's great, but why is it that every team we play in our first BTT game happens to have their "A-game," and we look like a deer in the headlights? No matter how you slice, sugar coat or justify it, it is a clear and disturbing pattern.

Let me guess you will make post after post of garbage about how bad they played today? Indiana played lights out. Iowa hasn't been consistant all year. We are YOUNG! This team will be so good from here on out making the Tourney I feel from here on out for many years!
 
The thing that isn't mentioned yet is how Fran shortens his bench in postseason play. Plays 10-11 in regular season and stuck with a small group today. Not surprising, considering his rotations are pretty much a hodge podge anyway

Geezuz... Admit it. Fran has sucked shit in this tourney. Consistently lost to lower seeds and rarely had his team ready. Indiana sucks and will be destroyed tomorrow.

Stop the bullshit "we're young," excuse. That's all it is... An excuse.

And last year we were the oldest team in the conference and got beat by lowly seed. What is the common denominator? coaching staff! I know that Fran doesn't play, but neither did Crean and he is getting credit for having his team ready to play. So Fran should get credit for NOT having Iowa ready to play again! Tournament performances under Fran are an issue

Maybe those BTT runs (2001,2002,2006) were a little tougher than some people gave credit for.

Iowa has how many BTT wins (one?) since SA left?

His team was down by one at the half. They were ready to play. They played a bad half and lost to a much more experienced team with better talent.

If you thought we were not going to lose another game this year you were living in a dream world. It hurts to get this close, but the good news is they got this close. We've been playing a one and done for 5 games and the guys showed up.
