Coming up April 23-27 in Vegas. MFS senior nationals will be Friday and Saturday, 4/25 and 4/26. Curious to see what HWC guys enter.

Current entry list here. Registration is open through 4/20 I believe, so likely to be a lot more entries.

And there's this interesting tidbit. Coaching, competing, or just watching?

For those that don't follow freestyle closely, here's a breakdown of how to make the World team:

Winner of Final X(best of 3) in June is the World team rep.

Any 2024 World/Olympic medalist is already sitting in Final X, if they stay at same weight they medaled at. The medalists this applies to:

Spencer 57
Vito 61
Dake 74
Brooks 86
DT 92

Winner of the Sr Open(1 match finals) advances to Final X.

The 2nd Final X spot for any weight that a medalist isn't already sitting in Final X will be decided at the WTT Challenge Tournament(1 match final).

For Iowa related info:

Spencer is already sitting in Final X. The US Open winner will be his opponent to make the World team.

Austin Desanto is the only other HWC member currently entered at 61

Gotta decide by April 15 if you're taking your spot in Final X or not. My guess is only Lee and Vito will accept

Interesting. Is Elor going 68 again or back to 72?
Not sure. I'm surprised Kennedy is going all the way down to 68. That's like 18 pounds down from her Olympic weight. Have to think Amit is going 72 with Kennedy and Kylie's moves.

I saw Makoyed is also going 76. I'm think it's likely that Elor goes 72 with the way everyone else is moving around
Kilty-Blades-Elor-Welker is one salty backend of a lineup if that's how it turns out

She was at 160 during her championship run at college this year. Idk what she ever weighed in at, but I'm guessing she was wrestling up.

Fwiw I always thought Adeline Gray looked a bit bigger than her.

Less than a week out. Current list of entries here. Still looks like just DeSanto for the HWC. Real Woods is entered at 65kg. I believe registration is open through Sunday, so we could see some more names enter.

Some interesting brackets taking shape. Other than ADS, I'm interested to see how Hamiti does in freestyle at 79.

Gas tank Gary #4!?!? I didn’t realize he was still climbing the ladder. Good for him. Alway like seeing a kid who just keeps chugging along. Wish him the best against anyone not named Massoma Endene.

79 looks relatively weak and 86 looks ridiculously stacked.
Crazy that Dake, Z. Valencia, Marstellar , Welsh and Keckeisen are all at the same weight. Dake NCAA champ at 141-165, Marstellar 165 in college, Welsh 174, Keckeisen 184, and Valencia competed at 197 in 2020 before the season was Covid cancelled. He competed at 92kg (202 1/2) in 2023. Now all are 189.

I had almost forgotten that Dake competed at 86kg for a while, almost a decade ago now. The cut down to 74 seemed to be affecting him more recently.
