has he ever beaten a top 20 team or ranked team?

His defenses have given up a ton of yards and points against some pretty mediocre opponents

He has won the American Conference Title with the toughest opponents being USF and Memphis


His offensive units have been prolific true ....but against what caliber of defense?

It's about taking an 0-12 team to 6-7 then 12-0. The problem is, UCF was 31-9 the 3 prior years including 12-1 in 2013. He did a nice job of taking him 2 years to cure a one season hiccup. Zero signature wins=5 mil per year in Lincoln I guess.

The number one seed in the playoffs went on the road and lost to a cuse team that had a losing record.

Frost has been a head coach for two years! He is a disciple of Chip Kelly, one thing we found out about Chip Kellys Oregon teams is they got pushed around by Ohio State in the '09 Rose Bowl and a Oregon team still littered with his players and teachings got pushed around by the Buckeyes again in the National Title game a few years ago.

This doesn't equate to Frost so its irrelevant. What we do have is the fact Frost took over a winless UCF team a couple years removed of winning the Fiesta Bowl under George O'Leary. The following season he went 6-7.

In his second year he is undefeated and has the Knights leading the nation in scoring at 49.7 points a game. His defenses are not great and if his offense struggles they will leave their defense out there alot. They play with tempo and pace which are great if they score, if they have several 1 minute drives their defense will crumble like Kellys NFL defenses did once teams caught onto his schemes.

None of us know what will happen. Its an exciting hire for sure, but he wont have top end Florida kids coming to Lincoln unless he proves he can win in Lincoln. He's coming into a conference with huge offensive lines and a few established coaches.

2013 12–1, won the Fiesta Bowl
2014 9–4
2015 0–12 (O'Leary resigned after 8 games).

Here is Frost's record with O'Leary's recruits:

Frost did a nice job at UCF, but the "he took the team from 0-12 to 12-0 in two years" is a tad misleading. Prior to Frost's arrival, UCF was a really good group of 5 team with one bad year. That's it.

In the 60’s under Nagel, Iowa had a very dominate offense with the likes of Podolak and Lawrence. unfortunately the defense gave up more points than the offense could muster.
