The refereeing has been unbelievably pathetic.
WNBA refs have to do something in the offseason.
Dark haired ref was very one sided. Really poor job by the whole crew. Big Ten should be embarrassed but they will just say, Iowa won anyway so why do we care?
It really was poor. I'm pretty tolerant of the refs but they were blowing whistles whenever a shot was even contested.
It is possible to block or alter a shot without a foul; please add that to the officials handbook.

It looked like Iowa was called for breathing on them. On a side note, I saw at least 3 or 4 shoves in the back by neb but I guess the refs must have been looking up in the stands or somewhere. The worst I've seen, and fouls were one sided. Hawks won in spite of it all.

Exactly…the refs called every ticky tack foul on Iowa, but no fouls when Nebby was hacking Iowa.

I expect bad officiating, but there was an obvious agenda. Good thing the girls were hot. Should have won by thirty.
Very, very poor. I’m generally not a believer in blaming the officiating for losses, and obviously we didn’t lose, but my goodness was that some really shitty one-sided officiating. Even with that said they made some pretty questionable calls the other way just not near as many.🤷♂️
Just got done watching that on delay. The consistency of what they did and don’t call a foul was the worst I’ve seen in college basketball this season.

Multiple fouls called on Iowa where Nebraska guard makes contact with off hand to defenders chest and gets a call.

I've watched a lot of NCAAW games this year. Haven't seen anything like what went on tonight. Just wildly inconsistent and borderline incompetent.

The refs for women’s games are notorious for calling anticipatory fouls. They see action that looks like it will be a foul and they call it on that basis alone. They don’t actually watch the play through because they’ve already determined it will be a foul. They do it all the time.

The thing that drives me insane about women’s officiating is how often they bail out offensive players by rewarding them with a drawn foul for throwing their body into the defender late in the shot clock. It’s maddening. That’s awful basketball.
Absolutely!!!!! It’s a pet peeve of mine in all basketball and it’s at its worst in women’s ball.
But also the worst refs are weak-minded and scared of being booed by the home crowd. Half of our "fouls" weren't legit, it was them crashing and leaning into our legal guarding positions. It was obvious by the second quarter that the crew had no idea what they were doing and I feel like Nebraska noticed and kept exploiting it.

The “worst” foul was probably Syd’s 4th. She was clearly straight up with space between and a hand on top of the basketball. I think it was O’Grady who hacked the heck out of her, but that was probably the most stupid call refs made all night, and a lot to choose from.
So basically it looked a whole lot like a college women's basketball game.
If Iowa ever trailed, I am sure Jan would have had a meltdown. As it was, even with the fouls, Iowa appeared to have the game under control. Luckily, Lucy was able to play 40 minutes.
I hope she sends the film in of some of the atrocious calls. The refs in this game were beyond terrible.

It would have been worse if Chimmy had been doing the color. If you couldn't see the picture you wouldn't know what sport was playing.
Another favorite of mine was when Marchowski dribbled and knocked our post player back 3 times and then went up and shot and drew the foul.
I felt she was all over the refs vs USC.. also there a possession where Olsen was getting hand checked bringing it up and she was yelling at the ref the whole time.
I think she didn’t want to cross a line a sacrifice any points.
