Unbelievably Bad Officiated Game

I don't know. I would have thought we had about 20 fouls and Neb 5, but it wasn't really too lopsided. I forget details and too lazy to look it up, but I thought we only had 5/6 more fouls.

I still am not sure which was worse last night---

the game referees OR the TV announcers

please announcers---from time to time stop talking and let us watch the game in your silence

this was a very difficult game for a fan like me to watch and enjoy
They could at least talk about the game?

I agree, it was annoying. But, I must add that I didn't mind when they spent most of the 3rd quarter talking with Caitlin during the USC game. Does that make me a hypocrite, or just a biased fan?

JFC bitch about announcers when you control the remote on your TV turn it down if u don t like the announers.

Dark haired ref was very one sided. Really poor job by the whole crew. Big Ten should be embarrassed but they will just say, Iowa won anyway so why do we care?
Why do we care? anyone with half a brain for the sport of basketball cares that officiating do their job of calling the game fair and accordinng to the rules of the game.

last night was an obvious attempt by officiating that went beyond the normal home bias calls and just started making stuff up that wasn't there to appease the home crowd and help the Huskers back into a game they were and should have been blown out.

I care win or lose about this kind of behavior. You are right the dark haired guy was the most obvious.

Sadly if we had lost due to this, there'd be a contingent of fans that would use that worn out point of view...don't blame the refs blah blah blah about losing.

Absolutely miserable. I have watched college basketball since the Fab 5 in the 1950s. That crew should be fired tonight!
I'm happy to see this thread. I thought we played by far our best game of the year. The officiating was atrocious and kept Nebraska in the game. Our girls may have lost had they not played such a complete game. Very impressive win considering the calls. It was easily the worst officiating since I think it was at MSU or whichever game we should've won. Hats off to the young ladies for playing through it and keeping their composure.

Call me racist or sexist or whatever but that black gal was atrocious.
It doesn't matter what color or sex, that person was awful at officiating basketball.

Just ONE of a multitude of examples: Iowa blocked a shot on the near side around the 3 point line. An official 5 feet behind the play saw it was a clean block and didn't blow the whistle. The ref under the basket was blocked by at least 4 or 5 players but, apparently relying on her x-ray vision, blew the whistle and called the foul. That's not even her call. WTH?

Another favorite of mine was when Marchowski dribbled and knocked our post player back 3 times and then went up and shot and drew the foul.
Oh, I wish you hadn't mentioned that one . . . WOW! Basketball is such a great game, but contests like last night are almost impossible to watch when the refs are so brutally bad and one-sided. The game was called one way on the Nebraska half and the opposite on the Iowa half. As others have said, Iowa had to play brilliantly to beat an 8-person Nebraska squad last night.

Congrats to the Hawkeye players for refusing to let the incompetence of the refs stop them from winning, and winning big. And Jan did a great job of making her displeasure known, but without crossing the line. I'm pretty sure I'd have been tossed. It was so unfair. It was egregious.

Multiple fouls called on Iowa where Nebraska guard makes contact with off hand to defenders chest and gets a call.
If Fran would of been the coach tonight, he might be suspended til 2030.
Former Fran, yes. This year's Fran, meh. But I would've been tossed. I can guarantee that.

I kept thinking that during a timeout Jan should have politely called the refs together and said something like this: "Would you prefer we just pull our team off the floor when Nebraska has the ball at their end?"

We've all seen plenty of bad, one-sided officiating, but last night was right up there with some of the very worst. It almost reminded of the national title game vs. LSU . . .

There's a reason Iowa men stopped playing Northern Iowa on a home and home basis.

Meh.. maybe this game justifies that point of view. 🤷‍♂️
