Ok that may or may not be an overstatement. But he came in during the 2nd half and threw 18-28 and 200 yards, granted some of that was against our 2nd stringers. Could have been a closer game if he had started I think.

I think besides Nick Neimen, our LB's need work in pass coverage. I like Ojemudia. Not sure what I think about Hankins and Gervase yet.

Yep, pretty easy to move the ball when you’re basically conceding 10 yards every play to make the clock move.

Edit: 10 not 20 yards. Fat fingers.

I think I saw Ferentz try to trade Stanley for him after the game and Farley declined...so you're right!

Gervase got totally screwed on that penalty. He was in perfect position, and made an excellent play. Totally bogus call, and both announcers said as much. Without that call they may very well not have scored , (at least a touchdown) on that trip. You also have to factor in that we kind of took the foot off the gas going into the 4th quarter. This helped UNI get that second trip with the ball back about mid-field.

How is 18 of 28 and 200 yards better than Stanley's 23 of 28 and over 300 yards?

I'm not saying it is necessarily. But I was impressed with his accuracy. Stanley threw a lot of passes behind receiver that were lucky to be caught. One of them almost got picked and probably would have been taken for a TD. That has to improve in Big10 play.

Stanley > your favorite backup

Absolutely hated the reaction after the play. How was that reaction not a penalty.

I'm honestly not sure that Stanley is better than Mansell, but we'll see. He's got a strong arm. I'm open to being proven wrong. Next week will be very telling.
I'm open to not caring if you are proven wrong. How's that sound?........

Stanley > whoever you want to argue should be the QB for Iowa over the next two years

Deal with it. :)

So, you good? No? Great, thanks. I don't care.

This cracks me up. Like anything you've posted up to this point is factual. What was your old Handle by the way since you just joined today?

But probably the 70000th best announcer. Woof. I do put him ahead of Marc Cook though FWIW.

That’s being generous. There were probably 10,000 or so better commentators at the UIHC.

The only one chuck was better than, was the guy sitting next to him. He said Phil Parker has been the DC for KF’s entire 20 yrs at Iowa. Also said Iowa’s defense was “pitching a tent”. I chuckled at that.

Why is it that we rarely see people with single digit posts ever say anything good about our team? LOL And as far as UNI's backup being the best QB in the stadium, it looked to me like Iowa went into a prevent defense the fourth quarter. How else do you explain our DB's playing 15-20 yards off the ball the majority of the fourth? Not hard to look like an all american QB against a prevent.

Edit Marv

I did learn from Chuck that a qb should set his feet. I drank enough beer that it took 30-40 mentions for it to click in my head...but Chuck didnt let me down and mentioned it at least 50 times. Thanks Chuck!
