To me it looks like Eiermans best chance to make it is to win a NCAA title. I think he should wrestle at midlands, and let's go for it this year.

I wouldn't call it domination, until he caught him and stuck him. He definitely was more in command of the match compared to the first meeting at OSU and the loss in the second meeting.

Well he was a 5th year senior with single digit career losses and was on his way to getting majored by a true freshman before getting pinned. Not sure what you call dominated but it checks the box for me.

Anyone have any thoughts on why Marinelli didn’t make an Olympic run? Lewis and Massa are in the finals and Marinelli’s right there with those guys. I guess he just wants to focus on his folk goals this year?
I’d have the same question w/r/t Kemerer, but his folk weight might not translate as well to the Olympic weights, so it wouldn’t have been as easy for him.

They are in the finals of a qualifying event. A long long ways from making the team at 74. He is probably being somewhat realistic and just focusing on winning a NCAA title first and if he does that he is qualified for the trials anyways.

NATO does look good this weekend but does the Curse of Herky end up swooping down from above and drop a big ole turd on him again?
I just want him to wrestle at NCAAs. Sure I would love him to wrestle every Iowa event, but If we can get him for the PSU dual maybe the Okie State dual a couple matches at Big tens and a title in Minnesota all while he trains to win the Olympics I consider that a win.
I say yes. It’d probably be his last match until next year for him as I doubt he wrestles midlands next week.
Depends on how they want the seeds to turn out at Trials...the way I see it now, it is:
1. Fix
2. Gilman
3. Lee if he wins it/Nato if he wins it
4. Gross
5. Lee if he defaults
Right now, Gross has head to head vs Nato but I think winning the Open might supersede that. Fix because he is the returning team guy and Gilman also a returning team guy plus World Silver.
Would love to see Lee and Gilman best of 3 to decide this.

outside of midlands Spencer will wrestle 90% of the remaining schedule, he might skip one of the road duals, Indiana and/or Michigan

Prior to flo it was much harder to access wrestling live. This is fact. I love to hate them and get jabs in but definitely thank them for improving accessibility.

There was zero judgement anywhere. That was an assumption made by yourself and others. If you don’t think it’s interesting that literally a million people who have zero shot don’t enter this tournament but a few guys go for it, that’s totally your prerogative.
