The quick techs are going to be really helpful for Spencer. His body will take less wear and tear as tournaments go deeper. Much less physically demanding style.
My thoughts exactly. They should have stood them up. Would've been 3-3 after the passivity point but at least Schriever would've had a chance to answer
The action could've been stopped twice there.
Fast forward to Spencer's match and the ref stops the lace attempt after 5ish seconds.
DeShazer had a good solid 20+ to get it going. Absurd.

It feels like it's been awhile since Iowa has had this many high caliber guys (legit contenders) competing in a freestyle open. Great to see!

Kemmerer just was waiting to unleash old man strength in the second.
big brothered him in the second but good showing from nelson. i thought he looked tired towards the end of the first after kem picked up his pace and that showed in the second.

Nelson got the first 2 takedowns then Kem got a couple of takedowns and trapped arm gut turns. Final score 9-4 Kem I think.
Great showing by both Nelson and Kemerer. Hard rooting against either one. Nelson gave himself a good opportunity but Kem just a little more dynamic still
I don’t care where Kem is whether wrestling or coaching I don’t think I could root against that guy.

Kueter in a very tough match, but wins 12-8
Kueter survives 12-8. Thought he looked a little gassed. Also appears to have hurt his ankle. I think some of the problem is, he kept wrestling when he should have bailed out and gave up the takedown. Sometimes the extra wrestling gets you in trouble in freestyle, and that was the case on a few of the takedowns and turns.
