USAID....WTF????

The Republicans own all three branches so if they wanted to go about this a traditional way I wouldn't be alarmed. I might say something if they cut something I disagree with.

However, the way this is going down sets off alarms. The executive branch is clearly too powerful and the legislative branch seems okay with that.
This. It's not so much what they are doing, it is how they are doing it. They've just taken a collective shit on the Constitution and actually, are just wasting time and money because nothing they are doing right now is real. At least if we are going to continue to recognize the Constitution as the founding document of our government. Given how they have acted up to this point I won't be surprised if they just announce that they no longer recognize it as relevant to their governing style, Trump is now President indefinitely, and f**k you because we hate black people. Now bring on the laughing emojis.

You didn't have a problem with it when a dictator was trying to kill and imprison his political enemies. You're just a POS propagandist.

There's no reasoning with that dunce. All in. Proud Iowa MAGAt meeting attender even. The state has been run into the ground by those Idiots.
How would you know, you live happily under this guys rule.

Democrats never gave a shit about poor or black people. Look at their actions.

Elon Musk flew into Flint and tried to help fix it though and they hate his guts.
I mean that’s wrong on the Dems as I think a lot of them do care but these career politicians within the Washington swamp have learned how to game the system for years to get rich off of the US taxpayer.

All I will say is the propoganda will be ramped up on both sides (we are seeing it on HORT) as the power class is getting exposed and each team is trying to score points still.

Balderdash.

The courts are now issuing injunctions restricting Presidential oversight of Treasury and the Department of Education. These cases are examples of unelected judges protecting unelected bureaucrats.

Trump overcharged his service by over 300% at his hotels breaking federal limits.

Seriously, MAGA, why is this okay?

File this one under "needs more context".

The hotel “charged as much as 300% or more above the authorized government per diem”, for Secret Service hotel rooms, according to the report.

It added: “Not only did former President Trump’s D.C. hotel routinely charge the Secret Service more than the government rate, it frequently charged the Secret Service more than it did other patrons, including members of a foreign royal family and a Chinese business interest.”

Eric Trump has said previously that the Trump organization let Secret Service agents “stay at our properties for free”. But the report calls that assertion into question, noting that the agency was charged “far in excess of approved government per diem rates and even many times the rates charged to hundreds of other patrons—including some of the rooms rented by the Qatari royal family and Chinese business interests—for rooms used by agents protecting members of the Trump family.”

I am all for calling out the grift on both sides.....let it all come out.

Dems, you can hate how this is going down with Elon and DOGE but how can you explain what is being presented on what has been happening in USAID?

If this is all true and the money that is being sent out to all this is waste and fraud, how can you still make decides for this nonsense?

This is ****ing craziness of the inner workings of the USAID and how bipartisan it is with using these NGOs to get rich by using our tax dollars. We have Flint Michigan with dirty water but the “oligarchs” of Washington are using our tax dollars to give money to Politico or some pointless project in Lebanon.

If this is true, this is beyond pathetic.
I don’t see much of a defense of the actual spending. Much more about the process, the cherry-picking, the lack of context behind the expenditures, the data security, etc.

As well as the idiotic, ignorant, breathless ramblings of Phenomenally Frantastic.

I would think defrauding the gov over Medicaid or Medicare is something pretty closely monitored. Doubt you get any big wins there.
I hope you’re correct, but nothing would surprise me at this point.

Well, the guy guilty of the biggest fraud is Rick Scott, a Republican senator from Florida. Some of you may have heard of him.

I’m still deployed but currently in Tampa
Oh...wow.

The father in law of a Ukrainian lady I was working with had a Moscow guard dog turned on him to get her to quit working with USAID projects. Didn't kill him, but messed him up badly. I knew when the Peace Corp pulled out things were going to turn south.

Where are the reports on Tesla and Starlink?!?!??!?! OP is such an embarrassment

Tesla?

When a customer gets a tax incentive, they benefit, not Tesla. Also these incentives are offered to all manufacturers. Not Tesla singularly.

Lastly, while the IRA was being crafted and debated, Elon Musk specifically and very publicly stated that it should not be passed and that Tesla didn’t need it to be successful. The IRA EV benefit was a union handout to GM, Ford, and the UAW.

Common sense from Musk:

“To be clear, what the DOGE team and U.S Treasury have jointly agreed makes sense is the following:

– Require that all outgoing government payments have a payment categorization code, which is necessary in order to pass financial audits. This is frequently left blank, making audits almost impossible.

– All payments must also include a rationale for the payment in the comment field, which is currently left blank. Importantly, we are not yet applying ANY judgment to this rationale but simply requiring that SOME attempts be made to explain the payment more than NOTHING!

– The DO-NOT-PAY list of entities known to be fraudulent or people who are dead or are probable fronts for terrorist organizations or do not match Congressional appropriations must actually be implemented and not ignored. Also, it can currently take up to a year to get on this list, which is far too long. This list should be updated at least weekly, if not daily.

The above super obvious and necessary changes are being implemented by existing, long-time career government employees, not anyone from DOGE. It is ridiculous that these changes didn’t exist already!

Yesterday, I was told that there are currently over $100B/year of entitlements payments to individuals with no SSN or even a temporary ID number. If accurate, this is extremely suspicious.

When I asked if anyone at Treasury had a rough guess for what percentage of that number is unequivocal and obvious fraud, the consensus in the room was about half, so $50B/year or $1B/week!!

This is utterly insane and must be addressed immediately. “

You morons. Fixating on the penny in my pocket as indicating I'm getting my finances in order is worse than worthless in that endeavor.

I repeat:

You.Morons.
Hope you were facing a mirror when you typed that because he's 100% right.

In many cases, the difference between the rich and the poor is frivolous spending over the course of years. Huge difference in financial habits between a 40 year old with a secure path to retirement and the 40 year old living paycheck to paycheck, and it isn't "luck" or "privilege" 95% of the time.

Totally reasonable, I'm sure I can turn on MSNBC right now to find out why this is the end of America... Then I can come here 10 minutes later to read the same talking points.

You don't even have to be a successful business owner to realize these recommendations are good practice. Many failed business owners would follow these same guidelines.

My assumption has always been the federal government moves so slow because they had an excess of these measures in place, but we're finding out that's not at all true.

You.Moron.

This isn't about that. This is whether once a month you do make that impulse buy and grab the Milk Duds at the grocery store checkout. It's completely irrelevant when it comes to your overall household budget and the spending that Republicans are talking about drastically cutting or eliminating is irrelevant when it comes to the overall federal budget picture.

You guys want to congratulate yourselves on saving from impulse buys at the grocery store as if you're doing something real per your personal budget picture while at the same time going deeply into debt to fund a luxury vehicle and expensive vacations.

Mark my word, even if Trump/Musk/Republicans are able to make all the cuts they're looking to make they will still blow up the budget over the next 4 years via their tax cuts and their increased spending in other areas.

This is all just so ridiculous and absurd.
