Utah beats NIU 17-6?!?! And they’re a better team than

Iowa? Ahhhh, not so fast.. sounded like a pretty close game.. anyone able to watch or see the highlights

I saw quite a bit of it, NIU kept shooting themselves in the foot offensively. Moved the ball well, just couldn’t make big play when they needed. Utah looked decent, think the Hawks are a better team

I believe Utah moved very little after their win against northern Illinois.

The game was closer than the final score. NIU had last possession in 10-6 game needing a TD to win but QB threw pick 6 to pretty much end the game.

Yep - game was anybody's game until that point ... the pick-six sealed things in favor of the Utes.

And this is why not to freak out about ugly victories - other teams besides our beloved Hawks can play the game too. NIU is not a pushover, and neither is ISU as much as we may want to think it. Many of our offensive woes through two weeks are self-inflicted, and against a tough D you don't get too many chances. Savor the hard-fought victory and look for better things to come from Stanley & company. They have it in them.

Going on the road and beating NIU is more impressive than beating them at home.

True, however attendance was listed at 16,000 and looked like less than half of that to me. Hardly an intimidating/hard to hear environment. I realize Utah had to travel quite a distance. The NIU defensive line dominated Utah's OLine all night with something like 14 TF's. NIU's offense really couldn't do much either though.
