Pretty telling why uthoff isn't considered a leader on this team given his responses to Allie mcforce (sp?) after the game. Awkward and embarrassing r both understatements.
Anybody see the UNI post game interviews compared to Iowa player and coaches. Fran was a stiff ornery looking dude who could only talk "coach speak", but Jacobsen was loose, admitted they were probably lucky, congatulated the other team and smiled. Fran, none of that. No wonder UNI performs at the end of the game and Iowa looks so scared and tight. Teams really do take on the personna of the coach

I guess you missed the point I was trying to make. Ben was loose and enjoying the moment with his team which is reflected in the way they play too. On the other hand, Fran just looked more like his team lost and seemed he was still uptight about some play or call. The audience was not interested in the detail coaching lingo at that point, rather show the emotion of the moment. I'm not saying that Fran was not professional, just that stiffness from Fran is how the team plays at many times.Wow! You heard a different TV interview of Fran than the one I heard. He did not look or seem ornery at all. Yes, he answered the questions in a professional, basketball terminology way. It was a BB game, after all.

Was in a bar and could not hear it. What was so bad?
Iowa was expected to win, UNI was not. Coaches are different, players are different. Why bash how they respond to reporters. Some people just aren't comfortable doing it no matter how many times they do. Uthoff doesn't like the spotlight on him. He just wants to get it done and move on. I'm guessing Fran was still mad about the way the team performed down the stretch again and letting them tie it by fouling a three point shooter.I guess you missed the point I was trying to make. Uthoff is clearly uncomfortable in front of the camera. Nothing more, nothing less.
Otoh, i thought Adam really did a good interview. Would like to hear more from him.[/QUOTES
Saying Woodbury did a good interview is a stretch at best. Yes, 100x better than Uthoff, but, the "we cant be stopped" (or whatever exactly he said) comment was ridiculous. The put-back was arguably the first time in 4 years that Woodbury did something on the basketball court that was truly noteworthy yet he was running his mouth like he was? LOL. Just shutup and let's see you do something noteworthy again tomorrow as opposed to letting the rim block your shot, or stumbling and falling on your ass after a "dunk", or missing a layup, etc etc, all of which we have come to love.
Outside of some Iowa fans, no one expected Iowa to win. So in reality Fran had no more pressure on him or his team than Jacobsen and UNI. The talking heads kept referring to Iowa's Jekyll and Hyde personality whenever Iowa was being discussed. Fran was just being Fran, what you see is what you get.Iowa was expected to win, UNI was not. Actually public speaking is the most common phobia. Uthoff's lack of emotion and interviews (not just yesterday's) bespeak a very introverted and not particularly likeable guy and not merely a fear of public speaking. He never shows emotion of any kind on the court or in inteviews. I doubt if he's a really much of a leader in practice or the huddle. I've noticed that he doesn't jump up when he's on the bench and something good happens, at least not very often. He just sits and stares at the court. There's some guys that are good players but you only miss their game not their presence when they leave. Ute is one of those guys for me.
Fran is exactly what he seems. A total basketball coach that appears to know nothing other than basketball and speaks entirely in BBall jargon and coach speak, regardless of the question or the circumstances. I've heard him speak a couple of times, its the same. Since he's here to coach basketball it really doesn't matter to me what he does in interviews. The one thing I do really like about Fran is his willingness to defend the team when we're getting raped by the officials. But we're not going to be getting much charisma from Fran.
Stupid post!
Public speaking is a huge fear for many people.
Judging him like you just did proves how much of a DB you are.

Yet somehow ur judgement of me is ok? LOL. Go back to sleep moron.
You sure the lump was in his throat.Jarrod had a lump in his throat...totally understandable.
BS, most people expected the Hawks to beat Temple.Outside of some Iowa fans, no one expected Iowa to win. So in reality Fran had no more pressure on him or his team than Jacobsen and UNI. Buddy Hield is Bahamian so...At least you can understand the guy. I feel bad every time they interview Buddy Heild. The guy sounds like he just downed 4 red bulls and sounds like he's 12yrs old.
