Good for Jarrod. Next step will be getting some meaningful minutes.
Maybe he will get some minutes once they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Uthoff would be better served playing in the D League and logging minutes rather than riding pine on the end of the Mavericks bench.Good for Jarrod. Next step will be getting some meaningful minutes.
They're 5 games behind 8th with 9 to go. And would have to pass another team as well. They are essentially eliminated just not mathematically.Maybe he will get some minutes once they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Personally, Id rather ride the pine in the NBA and only average a few minutes than spend more time in the D League.Maybe he will get some minutes once they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Not to mention I'm sure the pay is much better.Personally, Id rather ride the pine in the NBA and only average a few minutes than spend more time in the D League.
Concur. Would you rather practice with/against Dirk Nowitzki, et al or schlep it in the D-League?Personally, Id rather ride the pine in the NBA and only average a few minutes than spend more time in the D League.

Sounds like a multi-year deal. The terms weren't disclosed. The minimum salary for a player with zero years of service is $543,500. He'll only get a fraction of that this year, but if his contract is guaranteed for next year, he'll be making at least that.

Half a mil is a good gig, a gig that Uthoff doesn't currently possess.hum...now i wonder who among us thought that JU would never wear a NBA uniform.
Half a mill not a bad gig....good for him.

2 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 3 minutes tonight.
Don't forget to watch Pete in the 3PT and slam dunk contests tomorrow on ESPN at 9pm Central time!hum...now i wonder who among us thought that JU would never wear a NBA uniform.

I think that one story where Uthoff paid for a loaf of bread and some deli meats when the coach offered to pay his meals really touch the coach personally so he kept Uthoff on the for year, besides the fact that he's a pretty good player too. Now Uthoff can afford delivery pizzas and chinese with his new salary.
I think you kind of casually brought up something key here. Bench guys don't get to be jerks, not worth the distractions. I'm still thinking Uthoff can carve himself a nice little home somewhere.
Speaking of Dirk—who's watched "The Perfect Shot" documentary about Dirk and his personal coach?
Listening to the Carlisle interview it sounded like they were very impressed with his ability to shoot from 3, mid range and block shots. Sound familiar? Bread and butter while at Iowa. He went on to rave about the skill set he brings to the roster and mention they have a chance to lock him up long term this June if they would like. Sidenote: Raving for Rick Carlisle might not sound as you would imagine. It was a very positive interview and his NBA stock is trending very much upwards. Congrats to Jarrod.

The trend in the NBA is to have stretch 4s. Uthoff might need to add a little muscle, but he has all of the skills.
