Uthoff signs with Mavs for rest of season

It appears to me he has added muscle since playing at iowa.

I noticed that too in his clips from D-league. Looked a lot stronger---that will be huge for his game. Just watched clip of his 1st 2 points in NBA....Uthoff can end up being a stud in NBA. Most skilled B-ball player I have ever seen at Iowa.

sorry if repetitive...but Carlisle spoke of Jarrod on his weekly interview with local Dallas ESPN radio

Talked about Uthoff's size at "6'9" to 6'10"
Mentioned skillset shooting 3's, especially recently in D League and rare shot blocking for a stretch four
Spoke to his contract and how they really want him to play in the summer league and he will have an incentive laden structure.
Will get more opportunity in remaining games (along with a few other younger guys)

We all talk about jok and his sweet shot, but Uthoff ranks as one of the best pure shooters of all time. I think he's gonna make a great pro.

Watch out. Tall guys that hit the three and keep up running up and down the court can have pretty long careers coming off somebodies bench.
Hmm Matt Bullard with a mid-range game and a shot blocker as well. How many years did Bullard play for the Rockets etc.....

I was thinking the same thing, hope it works out that way. Matt played nine years for the Rockets. Thanks...

Wasn't Matt B one of Charles Barkley's least favorite players?

"I was laying on the trainer's table, and Matt Bullard came in and kicked me off it," Barkley said of the journeyman forward. "He says that he makes more money than I do, so he has first dibs on the table.

"What kind of league is this, when Matt Bullard makes more money than I do?"

"We get a white guy from Oklahoma, and he breaks his elbow,"
Barkley continues. "We need to get tough white guys. We need
white guys from New York or somewhere. Can't get those white
guys from the Midwest anymore. Can't get those white guys
like...." He spots teammate Matt Bullard, white guy.

"Can't get those white guys like Matt Bullard," Barkley says.
"We need some tough white guys." Bullard, white guy, giggles
along with everyone else.

Wow, OK! Was wondering, did JU's uncle Dean ever play in the league? He led the clones in rebounding and was a pretty solid scorer in the post at 6'11", back in 1977.

The 6-foot-11 Dean played at Iowa State from 1976 to 1980. He is the Cyclones’ all-time leading rebounder with 1,233.
...
Dean had a 13-year career in Australia’s National Basketball League. He became a naturalized citizen there in 1991 and has remained there.
