Incredibly rude for people to schedule conference calls when I have my day planned around doing busy work and streaming high school hoops.

Carlo Marble looked like an interesting player from what I saw. Seemed pretty athletic and somewhat of a defensive stopper. Is he a senior and is he on the radar of any area schools? Also # 22 or maybe # 44 Curry I think. He was impressive as well from what I saw.

Carlo isn't a high-major player. Love the kid but he is going to Kirkwood to get some things worked out. He's a nice player but just not at a high-major level per his coach. He broke his non-shooting wrist and won't be fully healed until after season. Turner Scott is the best player on the team and is going to play at D2 Truman State. He's got high IQ and great PG skills, just short. Quinn Curry is very athletic, he doesn't know if football (TE) or basketball is his focus next year as a senior. He is a 4/5 at Valley at 6'6" but is guard skills need some work if he wants to translate into college as a slashing forward. They are a very good team together.

Now, this is how you run a play to get a shot at the end of the clock (or double OT to make a championship game).

High School really needs a shot clock. Valley held the ball for literally all four minutes of double OT before taking the buzzer beating shot.

I only caught a few minutes of the 4A game, but Carlo Marble continues to impress and the kid from Pleasant Valley that was hitting NBA 3's was also impressive. I think at one point he was 6-8 from 3?

Yeah - we were talking here about the need for a shot clock as well. The cost is the prohibitive item at the high school level. But they need to figure it out. I hated the way that game ended.

Fundamentally speaking the shot clock would help Iowa High School hoops out tremendously. Often times it bails out poorly skilled teams. Sometimes watching high school basketball is very frustrating. Would like to see it at least added for 4A and 3A schools.

Considering how Well Nick Baer has worked out for the Iowa Hawkeyes, I'd strongly suggest that Fran and his staff keep an eye on Quinn Curry, perhaps Carlo, also.

I'm sure plenty of 'experts' said Nick Baer wasn't high major player, yeah right
