Lucy looked very solid, Smooth didn't press. Lot of good solid play from most players. While just an exhibition and don't want to over react definitely came away thinking damn Mallengi is going to be good.
Yeah, primarily Stremlow, with mixed results. Had a little flurry of turnovers late in the game. She is a high energy pest defensively though and should see good minutes.I think in mop up time, Stremlow was bringing the ball up. Early in the game, McCabe or Kylie would occasionally bring it up.
Like the men, the lack of handles worries me more than anything... Hoping Olsen is someone that plays pretty much every minute of the gameI think in mop up time, Stremlow was bringing the ball up. Early in the game, McCabe or Kylie would occasionally bring it up.
Really high energy. It’s a D2 school in exhibition season, but man she was tenacious on defense. She wears big ol’ kneepads for all that action. Can shoot from distance and drive to the hoop to finish BUT can hit stop for the step back mid-range easy bucket. Not something we saw with Caitlin much.Olsen looked legit in the 3 on 3 but that is a completely different sport. I'm really curious about her shooting, but even more so her command of the team. Appreciate anymore feedback you have on her
Well CC rarely sat and I’m guessing you’ll see the same with Olsen.Like the men, the lack of handles worries me more than anything... Hoping Olsen is someone that plays pretty much every minute of the game
I've seen very little but what I saw was her mid range game was derozan legit. It's gonna confuse the shit out of teams because it's the complete oppo of CC.Really high energy. another Warnock!!!...and making threes.
And Stremlow is tenacious on defenseI’m already completely smitten with Ms. Mallegni
YesLooks like Gymafi and Edinger have already been passed by the freshmen if this game is an indicator.
I made a chart of the games so I could watch as many as possible. There might be a couple of errors but this is what i found. I don’t have any of the big packages (FUBO, etc.), so I am limited.Unfortunately I think it’s like 6 or 7, including some conference games late in the season.
Damn it.
Anyone know how many of these games are going to be on this high school network? I hate spending on it but I always do
I subscribe to Big 10+. Several womens games will be the only access. I've had the subscription for 2 or 3 years.
ESPN+ and Peacock. Lots of coverage I ain't gonna miss. I'll bitch about the cost when I'm dead.
I like McCabe starting at the 2 since Feuerbach can come in and play the 2 or 3 depending on fouls and what not... obviously it'll change when SA comes back.It is hard to judge from a game against a DII school but we looked good with better defensive intensity. I still puzzle over who the core players will be by conference time. Here’s my current thought, but everything will change. Stremlow & the others may demand time.
Starters
Reserves
- Olsen
- Feuerbach
- Affolter
- Stuelke
- Heiden
- McCabe
- Mallegni
- O’Grady
I was disappointed in 4 fouls each from Stuelke, Olsen, and Feuerbach. They need to be able to stay in the game.
Finally, we might be the toughest team to scout in the conference. We certainly have a different look that the last several years.
Jada didn't have a great senior season in high school and then the injury once she got to IC.Looks like Gymafi and Edinger have already been passed by the freshmen if this game is an indicator.

Dammit, Franny. I had my follow up appt with the Dr. this afternoon for my retina surgery a month ago. And now, you put up a pic that looks all blurry in the background, now that I got my vision back lol.Tis the season
I think both Olsen and Syd will be the leaders, and Syd is a dawg. Plenty of experience from the grey hairs, (sorry ladies, lolol) in Syd, Kylie, Hannah, Addie, and Olsen is a big time player. She was probably one of the top 2 or 3 transfer for this year.Sure was nice watching a women's basketball game without all the reaching and grabbing. Just a preseason reminder of how much better the college game is overall. Much more like watching actual basketball.
Going to be a continual thing for Jensen to find the hot hand in any different game. A lot of talent on the roster. Hard to judge from an early exhibition game looking at different configs, but the team seems searching for their identity, the things that will work for them.
It's a bit strange not having an obvious team leader on the court. I suppose that might be Affolter. Idk. I'm wondering what Olsen might look like if/when she takes over a little bit, if she has that type of mentality that will rise to the surface.
The fab freshmen are going to play. This was a good showing for players in a debut in CHA. No obvious nerves.
Curious how it all translates to real competition!
