Jada didn't have a great senior season in high school and then the injury once she got to IC.
Not to judge, but her social media stuff and the fact that she really doesn't have a part of her game that she excels at has me thinking she won't contribute on the court much, if at all.
She just gives off the vibe of a party girl.
But it's early this season.
If Jada can't get 10-15 minutes of playing time per game on a team that lost as much as we did from last season because a bunch of freshmen have passed her up, then we have a good idea how the rest of her career is going to go. Having said that, she seems to really enjoy the Iowa lifestyle and won't have a future career playing basketball. So she may stick it out as a deep bench reserve.

I have no doubt she loves being on the team.
Probably a great teammate.

But if she brings nothing on the court...encourage her to move along after this season?
Cause I doubt JJ goes farther than an 8 player rotation.

I agree. I watched tape on her in HS and could not figure out why Iowa recruited her. Hopefully we are both wrong.

At last night’s game, we were comparing Heiden to Gustafson, so looking back, Megan Gustafson’s first game in an Iowa uniform was an exhibition against Upper Iowa (8 November 2015). Gustafson scored 19 points on 7 0f 10 shooting and had 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, one assist, and no fouls in 20 minutes. She turned out to be an okay basketball player.

Very solid in 20 minutes. Looking at last night Heiden only played 12 - 13min with 10 points and 4 boards. AOG played 15 min with 8 points and 2 boards. Between them 18 points ad 6 boards in 28 minutes. Not bad. Obviously you'd like to see them with bigger board numbers but out guards are snipers on the glass. Lucy and Kylie with 13 boards between them, and when Syd returns she puts up big board numbers as well. Ava has supposedly been under the weather so we'll see if and when she and AOG get more minutes and how their divided how this plays out.

We're a solid 9 deep once Affolter comes back. All 3 Freshman will play and contribute. Not sure what the status is on Guyton, but without the injury I'm guessing she would have been the backup pt guard. Probably my biggest worry at the moment. I hate to compare it to the mens exhibition, but this is what you're supposed to do against these teams. That was a dominating performance. What a great culture our women's team has built. Olsen is the perfect fit for this team. She's going to have a huge year.

What's so refreshing is just the energy around the women's team.
Completely different than the wash, rinse, repeat of MBB. Never thought I'd be saying that actually but I'd rather watch the girls play.
I said as much in an earlier post and was rebuffed by a poster saying it was ALL because of CC22 and would quickly be gone. Utter nonsense. Yes, CC22 was a generational talent, but if you can't see the difference between the two teams and the direction their heading, you have to be blind. The mens ex game looked about 3/4 empty seats at least and the womens game was just the opposite.

While I understand the reason, with Clark on the team, the other players looked to her first to generate the play or save the game. This year’s team will be fun to watch because there will be more variety from game to game. I expect Stuelke to be near the top of the stats, but several players could get hot from the field on any given night. Also, I like watching solid hustle defense, and this year there should be plenty to appreciate.

I think everyone was curious to see what we would look like post CC.
If tonight is any indication this team will be fun to watch. Lot's of scorers, the chemistry already looks great and Olsen looks like the perfect glue to bring these young players along.
Will be a fun season to watch

Before she transferred from Urbandale to Johnston, she was the big dog on a bad/average team.
At Johnston, she was just another good player.
Time will tell.

It will. The big difference I think will be that Lucy is a mid range/ in the lane scorer, while CC22 opened up huge gaps because of her range. Will need to find some consistent three point shooting from McCabe/Mallegni/Kylie and Syd to balance out Lucy's being in those gaps. I do think overall we'll see better overall team defense, so we won't need to score 95 points per game to get those wins...

We could be a hard team to scout for at least awhile. For four years, the scout was based on Clark. Do some voodoo to limit her or limit the rest of the team. Now what do you even base your scouting report on? Do something with Stuelke? Oh yeah, she’s not playing center. Who are all these new players?

The thing with a 15 scholarship roster is that you can have players like her hang out for a career and it isn't a killer. Actually bench leadership and camaraderie could help the team. As of right now we'll only have 3 seniors next season, with Jada being one of them. Could be good to have her hang around because of that. Plus she seems to be really good friends with Clark, which is a reason for Clark to keep coming back to visit next season. That can't hurt for recruiting.
