Before calling these guys great. Last year's group was very good at coming back from adversity stronger each time. When they took their lumps in the non con in New York and then came back to beat UNC. Got whipped by Iowa St and UNI and then started conference play with a huge road win. Got slaughtered by Wisconsin twice in quick succession and then went on to win the last 6 in the regular season. Sooner or later, we will have a night where things will not go our way and it might even get ugly on the scoreboard. Its such a long season and there will be a lot of adversity ahead. At this point, I think we may have that, based on the bounce back from Augustana. But I'm curious to see how this team responds to adversity when even Fran admits that there's no true team leader. When I first heard that, it sure didn't sound like a ringing endorsement. This could still be an outstanding team but to conclude that they are already better than last year is way premature.

Time will tell. Not always going to have a night like last night. I think what has people excited is how well the team has played on the road dating back to last year. If we go 2-1 in Florida, we have a real shot at getting out of the non on at 10-2 which would be a very good start.

I guarantee you when we do go down we will see posts' from the same ole people who seem to have disappeared since the outcome of last nights game.

I do think Fran feels a little better about team leaders today than he did previously.

I'm grateful we have a team of guys who play unselfish ball and are very easy to pull for...in victory and defeat.
And we have a coach who has clearly returned Iowa BB to where it should be.

Yes it is a long season. Lots can happen especially considering every game in the B1G is a battle.

It's inevitable that some people will get ahead of themselves.

They aren't suddenly front runners in the B1G after this win.
I still expect them to lose to isu. Possibly getting thumped. That wouldn't mean they were bad either.
If they can play more like last night as the season goes on, breaking into the top 5 in conference is a possibility.
They've got a lot more to do before they are close to that though.

Ups and downs. Just the ups from last season. Beating North Carolina, Beating Ohio State twice, Stomping on Michigan and Maryland, Six wins in a row to close out the regular season, stomping Davidson.

There had to be downs in between all of those. And wow, did the lemon suckers come out!

Nothing will change this year.

Many fans get way too down on the team after losses and too pumped after wins. It is a long season, and I am pretty sure that the Hawks will lose a few. Last night was really impressive, but there are going to be at least a dozen tougher games on the schedule, starting with Dayton.
