Wali Parks

Yep, I think Indian Hills is correct. Quick leaper with some decent skills. With his jumping ability, if he refines his game at Juco he could be a good one.

As I mentioned in another thread about the Timberwolves Shootout, it was weird to me that he really never guarded Reed Nikko when they played Maple Grove up here. I don't know if it's because he's a poor defender against bigs, or what...the ICW coach chose to have Connor McCaffery guard Reed instead and Connor is definitely not an inside player.

As far as him playing on the wing on offense, I don't recall him doing much from that position - a few good shots/moves. Reed guarded him, and had about 5 of his 7 blocks against Wali when he tried to make moves inside so he was pretty gun shy by the end of the game.

I really like Wali Parks, and I think he's taller than his listed height. He chose to go the JC route to help him get a D1 schollie. He is a quick leaper and dunker and a good passer. I saw him play against Iowa City's big 6-9 kid and he did well.

Saw an Iowa City West game, last year, where Wali Parks was leading scorer and that day was the best player on the floor. Hope he goes to Indian Hills, then does a Dale Jones and comes back and helps the Hawkeyes.

Or maybe he should just Walk-On, huh ??? :) A la St Nicholas

Gets kind of overshadowed by the immense talent on IC wests team. Same with Lane. Makes you wonder how the other Iowa recruits would do on a stacked team.

Plays hard with a chip on his shoulder. No silver spoon kid...has worked very hard to be where he is. Him and Devonte need to work on school a little more thou.

One advantage kids have playing on stacked teams like IC West and Wahlert is that it makes it a lot harder for teams to double and triple team the star. I'm fairly certain Pemsl still gets double teamed but teams have to be careful with the big time talent they have around him. Wederer and Till are very good players. Wedewer is already committed D2 and Till is potentially one of the remaining D1 prospects available. The kid is young and a freak for an athlete. Throw in the Maiers and Iwowari from Wahlert and you have potentially 5 of the top 30 prospects in all of Iowa. The same could be said for the awesome talent in Iowa City. I don't think Weiskamp, Kreiner and Bohannon have that luxury.
