Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was the subject of social media scorn after he was caught on video struggling to load his shotgun during a pheasant hunt.

"Tim Walz claimed he carried ‘weapons of war in combat’ but he can’t load a shotgun? This guy is beyond weak. My little sister could beat him up. Ya gotta watch this," country singer John Rich said in response to the video.

The comments come after Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate took to the fields for Minnesota’s opening day of pheasant hunting season, with Walz inviting members of the press to document the occasion.

But the Minnesota governor’s struggles loading his shotgun was what caught the eye of many social media users.

"Tim Walz looks as comfortable loading a shotgun as Kamala does answering basic questions," conservative commentator Buck Sexton said in response to the video.

The Harris campaign has leaned heavily into Walz’s Midwestern roots in an effort to appeal to voters in critical Rust Belt swing states, with the Minnesota governor often touting his gun owner status and history as a hunter while calling for "common sense" gun legislation.

Those hunting skills were called into question after the three-hour hunt, which CBS News reported resulted in the Minnesota governor not getting a single shot off.

"Tim Walz claims that he’s a lifelong bird hunter, but this clearly proves he has no idea how to load or charge a semi automatic shotgun," said conservative commentator John Cardillo. "I shoot A LOT of sporting clays with both semi-autos but mostly over-unders. He’s a first timer right here."

"After Watching Tim Walz trying to handle a shotgun, I officially retract any criticism from him avoiding combat zones," added conservative commentator Jason Robertson, alluding to accusations of "Stolen Valor" Walz faced earlier in the campaign. "He is a HERO. He is so bad with a weapon that he saved American Lives skipping the War Zone."

"Tim Walz looks like someone who has never loaded a shotgun," author James Hirsen quipped.

The video even drew comparisons to classic Looney Tunes character Elmer Fudd, who often struggled with his own shotgun in his fictional pursuit of Bugs Bunny.

"This is Tim Walz hunting pheasants. Who did it better?" conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong said alongside a photograph comparing Walz to the classic character.

The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment.

I think what he was doing was clearing the gun and hit the bolt closure button, before ejecting the 1st, so it put the 2nd round down in the belly of the action.

( or loading it and hit the button)

He maintained trigger/ barrel discipline and seemed to work it while speaking.

Plenty to make fun of the guy for, this isn't the hill.

*Fwiw it does appear he went hunting on a game farm and near as I can tell didn't shoot any birds.

Walz not knowing how to load a shotgun explains his immediate retreat from the national guard when he learned the news of his upcoming deployment. It's hilarious how bad the left is at acting like normal people these days. Tampon Tim can't load a shotgun but wants to lecture us on "weapons of war" (of which he saw none). Kamala and pocahontas pretend to drink beer on camera in the most cringe worthy ways imaginable. Chuck Schumer puts cheese on raw burger patties on his grill. The left is so disassociated from the common folk that they can't even pretend to blend in. Lizard folx..

This story is a nothingburger. I'm guessing it's awkward to load a shotgun safely while members of the press are standing closeby, and the last thing you want to do is accidentally flag sometime with the muzzle, that would be a terrible look (See: Cheney, Dick).

But good old @GOHOX69 eats it up like it's a fresh fried camel burger sauteing in flies on kamala's pussy after Wille pounded it all night!!

No, he and his guide can be heard saying, "it doesn't always fit." Explain that one??

Not sure.

My only guess with that verbaige would be plugged magazine ( required) and he is using 3 inch 20s and they don't want to fit all the way.
Required for pheasant?? It's like he has no clue how an auto functions......but then he claims he bought the weapon "back when he was shooting a lot of trap." A. It's not a trap gun and B. If he's shot a lot of trap with it, you'd think he would know how to lock and load the mother****er, no? 🤣

Nice try. Almost as awkward as Tim.

Cheney clearly knows how to load a shotgun, and fire it. His aim and gun safety may be questionable though.

Apparently not Tim's gun, and it certainly wasn't prepped by him, as he appeared unfamiliar with the weapon,.. Staged photo op is lame,.. Can't say that I've ever required the presence of a camera man to hunt pheasant...

timm stated in the video that he, "brought [bought] the gun back when he was shooting a lot of trap." So which lie is it?

I bird hunt extensively and was shocked by two things. First he is completely unfamiliar with the firearm. He obviously had never used it before.
Second, none of Elmer Fudds lackeys understood how incompetent it looked and edited it out prior to releasing it to the public.
