Watched 2nd half of TN game last night.....

I do not remember many chances to win in regulation. Did we ever have the ball when tied or even down 1?

I think we may have had the ball down 2 once.

I watched last night too. Cook was a beast and feel like we slowed the pace down and got away from Cook a little too much in the latter part of the 2nd half

mark - I think there was a possession that we could have taken the lead on where Jbo turned it over on an out of control drive (uncharacteristic). Also not sure but the play where Cook got the ball stripped could have been a chance to tie or go up.

So, after watching it a second time, were the soft hand-check fouls called on Iowa that twice killed momentum by sending the game into a TV timeout as big of B.S. the second time around?

Had the ball 1 time with the chance to take the lead. Down 65-64 with over 3 minutes and result was a turnover. Subsequent possession was the bogus foul call on Cook as Turner went to the basket and just fumbled the ball out of bounds. Turner made 2, then Bohannon was the recipient of the make-up call on his 3-pointer. Tied the game, but Iowa never again had the chance to take the lead, unless they would have taken a 3 on the last possession when Wieskamp got fouled.

Would have been interesting had the foul not been called on Cook for Iowa to have another shot at taking the lead. If Iowa ever takes the lead in that game, likely a Hawkeye win.

The fact we didn’t have a missed play for the win in final seconds has made it easier to swallow. If our game had ended like UCF’s I’d be in a funk for awhile

If Iowa lost like UCF, 90% of this board would be on suicide watch.

Kick to nuts..........Numerous chances to just win outright were there....So damn proud though. Great momentum for the offseason!
Actually, comeback was made MUCH more difficult by missing so damn many free throws and front ends of one on ones in the first half.

Just think if that passion was there a little more often this year. I hoped they realized what they are capable of.

We should have fouled when tied with 20 seconds to go. Tennessee is a 50 % FT team, they would likely had a 1 point lead and now our ball with a chance to tie or win. I knew OT was an impending disaster...

Tennessee is 76% for the year on free throws, so not sure that fouling right away would have been a great strategy. In the game against Iowa, they were 19-23, or 83%.

Pretty sure I’ve never seen anyone give FTs on purpose with the game tied

Texted my brother the same thing. I'd rather the ball and game be in our hands for the last possession. Foul and take our chances.

And, I'm sure it is a bad strategy, but i don't care. We earned a chance to determine our season. Down one or two.

I'm a fan. Not a coach.
