And you just make shit up. The unemployment rate at the end of the 2001 recession in November was 5.5%. It didn't get over 6.0% until May of 2003. The highest it got was 6.3% in June, 2003 before hitting the 2007 recession.
Fact is, the 8 month recession of 2001 was very mild. It was a slight correction to the tremendous growth of the previous 8 years. The Great Recession of 2007-2009 was far more severe and had our economy on the verge of depression. Your comparison is laughable.
