Last year it was CJ. Everyone thought he would be another Oglesby or Ellington, but he completely exceeded everyone’s expectations.

This year, it’s Keegan, who made most people on this site eat crow. I remember people were so distraught after losing Xavier Foster only to have Fran sign the two unranked Murray twins.

Thank you, Fran, for being an excellent talent evaluator. Thank you, Kenyan, for choosing Iowa and for bringing your uber talented sons. We got a steal!

You’re exactly right. We had a rough November on the court last year. At the time recruiting didn’t seem to be going well. It’s fun to go back and read some of the threads predicting doom and gloom. We may not win it all but we are 100% relevant in basketball and 110% fun to watch. I’m a pretty positive guy when it comes to Iowa sports and it feels good right now to be right.

Anyone who watched tape of Keegan at prep school should had know he was going to be good. What’s surprising is it was his offense that stood out in those highlights not his hustle plays and athleticism. Keegan can score in a multiple of ways. I remember a dribble between the legs step back three he had in those highlights and thinking, ‘Keegan is going to be a good one.’

I haven't followed ISU much, but if Foster becomes unhappy there, I suspect Fran would listen. Keegan has been great!

I wouldn't take Foster. Iowa can do better . . . and already has. Foster made his choice. So did Fran and Keegan Murray, Ulis, Perkins, Kris Murray and the rest. I'd rather have who Iowa has than who Iowa doesn't have.
