Next years team.

Right, My assumption is that guys like Josh and Sandfort will not really be part of the consistent rotation. Maybe their minutes are slightly inflated in my forecast. But my guess is that we will end up with a nine/ten man rotation, with Riley being right on the edge.
I'm neutral on Sandfort seeing significant minutes. I am hopeful that Josh will see the floor for 10-15 a game.
Small ball is probably going to be the way they go, but I still think there's a role for Josh O depending on the matchups.

Fran re-recruited JBo to return as the 2 that the offense would be run for. Doesn't sound like JBo will be coming off the bench anytime soon.

Not to mention, in my opinion, JBo should have been coming off the bench his last four seasons. And it hasn't happened yet

You are likely correct, my reason for suggesting that T. Perkins starts isn’t a knock on Jordan but from the things I’ve been hearing about Perkins that he has upped his game and has a more well rounded game , offensively and defensively and it will be difficult keeping him off the court. Should be fun watch this team and how things play out. I understand Fran can play favorites on loyalty alone but when his hand is forced by a player he doesn’t stand in their way, ie. Nick Baer, and even Jbo over Williams. If you seize the opportunity you will play.

Agreed. And the first off the bench will be Tony P, Kris M., CMac, and Ahron.
I think that will be the starting lineup as well........this teams strengths have to be their length and athleticism.....weakness is, or appears at this stage to be, 3 point shooting... ..choose a lineup with that in mind.

I hope above all else that the defensive intensity, rebounding, running, and pressing are utilized consistently next year. Offensive rebounding could boost our offense significantly......

I have been a big supporter of Connor, and I still really like the kid and his ability. That said, I don't think he fits nearly as well this year unless his 3 point shot is significantly improved. I think he can provide a lot of coaching and help both on and off the floor....but think this would be best done more often from the bench.

I am really pleased with the recent videos on our two young post players.....that said, KM-KM-PM-FR-and either AU or JT could provide everything we need at a high level and be very near the position-less basketball that Fran has talked about. Plug Tony in there as well.

JBO shouldn't have started last year. He could have been the microwave off the bench and protected his rehabbed hips and scored just as much, if not more. He needs to do the same thing this year. Come off the bench, hunt jumpers and save himself for end of game free throws. Just one man's opinion.

Who are we going to start that can shoot threes? Perkins?

Jordan will start. Tony Perkins ("Psycho"? too soon?) Very excited to see Tony based on what the other players are saying and the teaser time last season.

There is a realistic optimistic scenario for next season and Tony will need to play a role for that too happen.

I think that will be on the low end for Josh. He's going to surprise....
6 rebounds the bench? EJ Liddell averaged 6.5 rebounds in BT play and was 9th in the league. Weiskamp was 6.7. Race Thompson was at 6.1 and 17th in the league. No bench players over 6.

Perkins
Patrick
Keegan
Filip R
And even Joe T
They all can shoot 3’s and will when they are needed too,
I don’t think that will be the focus of our offense though but we’ll see, can’t wait!
You'll have to forgive me if I take a wait and see attitude toward your assertion. The highest percentage among that group was Tony with 33% and that was on only nine attempts. I still think that if any of them (throw Kris in as well) turns out be able to burn the nets from three, it will be a welcome revelation.

Agreed. We have a lot of athleticism and slashers but no one that has proven they are a great 3 point shooter in games yet. I absolutely hope some of the aforementioned players get it done shooting the ball but it's yet to be determined.

What we do know, despite some fans dislike for him, is that Jordan can fill it up from 3 point range. Tried and true and with all that experience he will be starting and should be. He also passes the ball very well and we're going to need that.

I really think Jordan is the key to the season this year. Everyone else will have improved but in order for this team to make the NCAA tourney, I think we need JBo to be one of our leading scorers.

Maybe not, just think he'll play a lot more then people think this season.

I wouldn’t be completely surprised if JBo is the starter but plays the same or maybe even less minutes than Tony at some point next season.

I think Tony is the real deal and the more experience and PT he gets the better it will be for us down the road.
Agree JBO will start and probably play to many minutes but Tony will be the more effective player and will eventually be on the floor for starters minutes.

He can fill it up when open but that rarely happens.

We'll see how he fits with a more athletic team.

I %100 disagree about him being a key to the season.

This season likely won't be great no matter what.

The key to this season is Kris, Pmac, Tyler, Tony, Josh and Riley getting as much experience as possible to have a good season the following year.

No forgiveness needed because while I believe they will shoot a good percentage from 3 the appropriate response is to take a wait and see outlook . I’ve watched a lot of Iowa basketball and most every year players step up and do things much better than I expect. Next year I expect the same from 3-5 of the players mentioned and quite possibly from someone I didn’t so yes wait and see. Hopefully none of us are disappointed

Yep, Perkins is a flop, Sandfort, will never become a shooter, and it's a guarantee that Connor will never learn to shoot a three. Which one of these 3 are a given?

I assume this is a joke. Sandfort is a lights out shooter, Perkins is a fine defender and can score and is certainly not a flop, Connor is not a shooter. 2 out of 3 of your assertions are completely false.
