Wayyy too early B1G predictions for title contenders

I agree. I honestly don't see 125, 165 or 197 as holes for OkState. Piccininni will hover between 7th and 15th during the regular season. Rogers(If 165 is his ideal weight he will be REALLY good) made the R12 up at 174 and Weigel also made the R12 at 197.

I would still say Iowa's point total potential is higher, but that would be a very difficult dual to win if Stoll's health is still a concern, regardless of whether OkState gets a transfer.

125: Gilman by major decision 4-0 Iowa This could be a regular decision, but I don't see Gilman losing 1 in 100.
133: Clark by decision. 7-0 Iowa Potential match of the night!
141: Heil by major decision 7-4 Iowa Iowa is great at keeping matches to regular decisions but I gotta go with the NCAA Champ.
149: Sorenson by decision 10-4 Iowa Sorenson is the clear 2nd best at this weight.
157: Smith by decision 10-7 Iowa Potential match of the night!
165: Rogers by decision(or pin) 10-10 TIED Rogers is SUPER dangerous and I am not sold Marinelli doesn't redshirt.
174: Crutchmer by decision 13-10 OkState Another potential match of the night!
184: Brooks by decision 13-13 TIED Another potential match of the night!
197: Weigel by decision 16-13 OkState
285: Stoll by decision 16-16 Stoll's health and who ends up at 285 for OkState, most likely decides this dual!
Admittedly, I don't know much about the room guys and up and comers as some when it comes to OK St. I don't think I've ever seen Rogers wrestle, but I know he was a fairly highly regarded recruit coming out of High School. Don't know much about Weigel either.
Both those guys very well could come around come NCAA time. I mean, it's OK st and Coach Smith, it's kind of what they're known for.
65 is an absolute stacked weight class this year tho. Even if Rogers is as good as you say he is, he just has too many legit hammers to get through to even AA this up coming year.
That matchup you listed Iowa vs OK st looks like a barn burner of a meet. Can't wait to see that! I think you're fairly close regarding your predictions minus the Heavy. I think Stoll pins to close out the meet. I also think Gilman techs Picciinnii

Piccinni is a stud. He had a great redshirt year and dipped his feet in the water in freestyle. He made serious improvements in his two free style tournaments. I don't see with how good he is he doesn't AA in a weak 125 bracket.
Picc-low AA
Brock-low Aa
Heil-champ
Collica-3-5
Rogers-r12. He's boom or bust. If you go upper body with him see ya. Guys that say solid vs him will win comfortably. Ex I Jordan will crush him.
174-2-5. I've never been a bit crutch guy but he wins.
84-2nd. He just gets better and better.
Weigel-weak weight to say the least 5-8
Hwt-I thought the juco champ was transferring there. Either way a whole.

Looking at the lineups heading into this season, I would just about guarantee the Head Coach of the NCAA Champs deserves to be Coach of the Year. Going into the season it is VERY HARD to separate tOSU, PSU, OkState and Iowa. The team that separates itself will most likely be the one that develops and improves the most over the course of the season.

Hopefully Brands and Co. create the separation this season!

Piccinini will definitely surprise some people next season who haven't taken a good look at him this past season. Don't put to much stock in his freestyle results when those are the only 2 freestyle tournaments he's ever wrestled.

It doesn't look like Isaiah White will be strapping up an Ohio state singlet this season which should honestly benefit him given his academic issues but still very possible Pletcher will be.

Gilman - 1st
Clark- 1st
41 -R12/DNP
Sorensen-2nd
Kemerer-3-5
Marinelli-3-6
Meyer-3-8
Brooks-1-6
Holloway-R12/DNP
Stoll-3-8

Not so much , the range includes ceilings for each, 8 AA's are predicted by others here, as well as Gilman and Clark as Nt'l champs and Sorensen as number 2... the key will be the remaining 5 and far too many unknowns to start the celebration. Kemerer is likely closer to 5th, than third , Marinelli may shirt even, Meyer could disappoint yet again, finish a 7th or 8th, Brooks as well could back slide or re-tweak the injury and Stoll may have an off year post surgery or reinjure his knee and finish 8th... not much upper weight depth , it is likely we are on the bottom end of the top 4.
