WBB Foreign Tour

Blunder has said several times the 2 main takeaways from these trips are the cultural aspects and the extra 10 days of practice.

Looks like Stuelke and O’Grady started, Stuelke gets the tip!

Not very encouraging
They've talked about Hannah improving her range out to the three point line. Frankly, I'd nix that and have her spend that time at the charity stripe. She's going to get the "hack a shaq" treatment next season if she doesn't get this handled. I think she was under 50% last season. Thats just not going to cut it......

She still needs to be more aggressive sealing early (I think thats what the coaches meant when they said they wanted her to be more physical). I do think she is the key, if she can be more assertive on posting up, and get better at creating angles and catching the ball in small windows it would allow Stuelke to play at the 4. I believe that would be the most competative version of the team against top 10 talent. I think stuelke at the 5 with Syd at the 4 might be really hard not to play because its going to work so well against undersized teams, but failure to develop one of the true centers limits how far they can go in March.

Stuelke leads all scorers and makes 6/8 FTs. Also glad to see Edigar and Gyamfi being productive when given the opportunity.

It seems Gyamfi is going to be playing the 4, which makes sense considering we have 3 posts with more experience, while she can shoot the 3 and rebound well.

Curious if she’ll get much playing time or if Bluder will just slide the SFs down to the 4 when Stuelke needs a breather.

Full stats from the 3 game overseas trip (minutes are wrong since first game wasn't figured correctly):

Coach Bluder…
“It was great to see Hannah (Stuelke) get some confidence at the free throw line, and I think Molly (Davis) was fantastic again tonight”
“I thought we’ve had a successful trip. Honestly, the women kept their composure, focus, and intensity when they didn’t have to. I really admire that as a coach, and we had 10 great practices before we came here. The defensive tweaks we made this summer, we really like. We think they will be effective this year.”

Wonder if McCabe will take a lot of minutes from Gabbie?
I think it depends on the type of game. In games that Iowa has a clear lead, I think McCabe will be a bigger part of the rotation and Marshall will leave the game for good relatively early.

In closer games Coach Bluder tends to tighten the rotation quite a bit. McCabe will probably still get time, but I doubt she'll play a ton come crunch time.
