I troll you guys here because I find it laughable that you can’t be content with how incredibly good a wrestling team you are fans of, when many of you didn’t even go to PSU or have done next to nothing other than decide to be a fan. So, you come on here to bother another fan base on their own board when barely any of them would even bother you in the least or even know you exist if you didn’t come here.

Iowa is lucky to have you. I had a dad of another wrestler really look out for me over the years and I regret that I got so used to it that I took it for granted. He is gone now, but I will never forget the smile he ALWAYS greeted me with whenever I saw him.
Please know that your influence will follow many of these guys for the rest of their lives, even if they don’t realize it now!

To piggyback off of this, the wrestling program still hasn't done a full on Spencer Lee post-collegiate media blitz yet. I hope this dual with Ono is just the start of it, but they need to do everything they can to keep him involved, especially when recruits come visiting.
Look over to what the WBB program is doing with Caitlin Clark. She's still THE focal point and will be for a long time to come and it's working. Iowa wrestling needs to start giving him the CC treatment and it could really blow the doors off this thing.
Furhtermore, Iowa needs to hang singlets from the rafters at Carver. Pick a damn good dual for a ceremony and bring in all the recruits to watch the crowd and live in revel in the magic. We have a damn near endless supply that could go up there.
This isn't meant to knock what Lee has accomplished , not does it mean I disagree at all, but had he completed the four-peat, or gotten gold, I'm guessing there would have been more of this already.
But... think of the celebrations there will be after he and BB both win gold (and on American soil, no less)!

Now full disclosure that match was closer then I was expecting but, im confident Spencer will a bit more fresh the next time they meet. Spencer was not happy at the end of that match and his lungs need to get better, but he looks like he is healthy

I wouldn’t call it close. Up 6-0 at the break so if he’s in peak condition it’s a good possibility that Spencer techs him IMO. And WE GOT BO!!! Go Hawks!!!!!
I give a lot of credit to all involved with Bo’s decision, the fact that they kept this so well under wraps, it’s extremely clear that it was Iowa the entire time. Obviously there was a lot of people close to him that knew where he was going to choose, and they all kept it under wraps, which was pretty cool.
There is some reporting about the $5 million in NIL and such, Bo’s himself in the interview has stated this is fake news and he wishes the numbers were that high, but all the teams were around the same number and it was not anywhere near 5 million

Love the idea to retire some singlets! Well past time to recognize some of the greatest athletes to attend Iowa.
There’s so many Iowa Wrestlers that deserve to be recognized, I don’t think there’d be space in the rafters. I agree absolutely Iowa needs to do something to honor their wrestlers in Carver though.
I was thinking about it during CC's ceremony and noticed I wasn't the only one...
For the most successful program at the University of Iowa, I think they can find some space. Develop some stringent criteria. This shouldn't be for the Hall of Fame level athlete - "retirement" of a jersey should be best of the best.
Sorry to reply to my own post but I'm still laughing about this today.
Putting the names of individual national champs on the national championship team banners would be a good start.
Better yet, the banners are big enough so put all the AA's on there. They all contributed to the win.
I heard this too - and I keep thinking about it. Two things hang me up - at least tied together.
1. While I believe there will be subsequent commitments due to Bo's decision, I don't know how we can assume Miller and KBassett come too? Miller is already the #2 ranked at his weight as a Sophomore, and is likely to be the overall #1 (or close) by the time he is a senior. Does Iowa have to give him a competitive NIL offer? He (and KBassett) will likely deserve something.
2. The 5 million deal is rumored - yet Bo said everyone was comparable but not near that amount. Could both sides be right? As mentioned by Sett, "Package deal" was used by several people - right or wrong. Could the "5 million" being floated around somehow be an offer related to multiple people (even if they haven't formally offered the youngers)?
Not saying any of this makes sense.....just trying to make sense of all the conflicting information and finding a way to "mathery" it like vhsalum is looking for.
I would take it a step farther and put the names of all of the qualifiers on the banner. All points scored matter.
Don't forget the janitor's names that helped with recruiting over the years.
