We have to get over being greedy.

No. Go smoke another one (I will too).

Unfortunately, I've been sober for a month. Please explain the money trail to me and why that is not efficient stimulation. Serious question, not being a smartass. Is it because the money trickles to low end retail jobs and not high end manufacturing jobs? Ok, I can accept that, but it seems way more efficient than any military spending not ending up in soldier or mid to low level defense contractor employees pockets

Isn't welfare the perfect form of economic stimulus? Doesn't like 98% go immediately right back into the economy? Does too much of it go to Walmart and McDonalds for the cons liking?

There is no economic 'stimulus'...there is only giving away money. These people are not going to make a better economy...they're going to spend money on needs and wants...not creating products or jobs.

The 'corporate welfare' everyone bitches about on the left isn't 'welfare' it's leaving productive entities with their own money...IE paying less taxes out of earnings.

That's a big difference.

One thing you must first accept in this argument is this...there are producers and non-producers. Once you recognize that you can see that not all money is spent equally. IE just as putting fertilizer on concrete doesn't make concrete grow...but on crops it yields many fold.

I don't say that to say we should starve the poor...I think you provide the producers the funds to create opportunities and jobs for those who can't make their own.

They are certainly creating jobs at Walmart, McDonald's and tattoo parlors. The "producers" already have all the funds in this country. Why aren't they creating jobs? Because jobs are created by consumer demand. This 1%er gets it:

Welfare is meant to be temporary. It's needed (to a point) but it's still a taxpayer expense. Taking money from someone who was going to spend/invest it and giving it to someone else who is going to spend it, isn't stimulating anything.

But taking money from someone who is going to spend it overseas or save it and giving it to a person who will spend it locally is a stimulus, right? Of course we all know what happens when you stimulate something too much. It explodes, takes a piss and goes to sleep.

Bottom line for me, if I live to be old and gray, do I want to look back on my life and be proud of the things that I acquired in life? No, that's not important. I prefer to think I will reflect on the positive and loving impact I've made on others in my life.

I'm all for anyone living their life as they choose. If acquiring money and material goods is what drives you, more power to you. However, for me, there comes a peace of mind knowing that those things don't control me.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy many material things but don't get too wrapped up in not having everything. I especially don't care to keep up with others that feel the need to acquire as much as they can. I think that ego drives many of us to want more and more, we want to feel like we've accomplished something by acquiring things. It is what is.

Seriously, this is the biggest problem in the world. Why isn't enough to live enough? You have to have every bling, every big screen tv, every single thing for your kids? Greed is the biggest problem this world has, and it's funny, many of those that do it claim to be Christians. Camel and needle, no? I find the ability to select which tenets you abide by both fascinating and horrifying.

The most greedy among us, are those who call themselves progressives and liberals... They take people's self worth.
