We need another smack team

The next 3-4 months will be slow around here and there's only so much we can talk about the Hawkeyes. Nearby teams like ISU, Minnesota, Nebraska and even USC have been talked to death and beyond.

Anyone want to "create" a new hated rival to talk smack about to fill the void, real or imagined? Notre Dame? Harvard? Kirkwood CC? So tired of listening to Nebbie fans think we obsess about them when for the most part, I think we're just bored. Probably a dumb idea but there are some pretty creative folks on this site and it could be fun to see what they could do with a little time on their hands.

Yeah, it is sad how people have seemingly forgotten our most hated rival.

All "hated rival" joking aside, Purdue is a pretty good candidate. They have played over their heads against us for the past 3 seasons, have the newest most overpaid coach in the B1G, have the worst campus in the conference and being passed by their instate rival has to be a sore spot.

They already have that one Boiler dude who turns up here occasionally, letting us know how young they are, how injured they are, how great their recruiting and new facilities are and how they're "a year away." He's a fairly level-headed guy, but it's a start. Has potential.

Problem is, many of us have a reasonable level of respect for Purdue so it's a challenge to take shots at them. Seems like most Hawkeye fans on this board base their opinions on character/personality issues, not win/loss records. This I believe reflects what we see from our coaches and players, regardless of which sport.
