This is about how badly they were out rebounded. I'm not the least surprised illanoy won that battle. I expected it. But +29? That's completely ridiculous. Even Fran pointed out that it was unprecedented and unacceptable. Cut it in about half to +15 and the game has a very different look.
I was just looking at ESPN's BPI Rankings, and despite the losses to Purdue and Illini, we are ranked #15. Just a quick tidbit here.

We got outrebounded by Connie, 43-26.
15 offensive rebounds for Connie (6 for Iowa).
Both teams had 8 turnovers.

It’s a problem that has hamstrung Iowa basketball for some time. Shots goes up and everybody heads to the other end. Was a time when Offensive rebounding was a strong point at Iowa. It no longer is.
Fran said he fixed the rebounding issue after the Illini game.
The MINUS 17 rebounding margin vs Wisconsin says otherwise.
