Same standard is applied to Covid, as is flu.
Only Covid is many times more lethal; across about every age group.

670 for Covid in 2022 vs 157 for flu
So, that's nearly 1300 Covid vs <200 for flu over that two year period.

I agree, but I truly think in his warped brain, it made sense to minimize Covid to avoid more panic among Americans. I mean during crisis, remaining calm is crucial

Just think of the thousands of kids lives you could save every year with a 10mph speed limit on every road. Thousands every year, let’s make it happen.

This is why I've come to hate politics. People reference political rags instead of medical journals to argue a point on public health and medical science.
Those most likely were not preventable with the info and tools at the time.
Holding all schools in-person would very likely have quadrupled them, or more.
Because you continue to ignore the fact that Covid is a highly infectious disease with an R0 of around 6.
The very early case counts (Spring 2020) were doubling every 3 days (actually, less then 3 days - counts were doubling every 2.4 days); put that level into a school, and you have the entire school shut down and many more of your older teachers dead or in the hospital for weeks. And with that case-load on hospitals, the mortality rates of the virus would have skyrocketed.
Many more kids have had there lives altered or worse by the closing of schools for such a long period of time, then those that were taken (sadly) by this awful virus. Do we know how many of those children who died from Covid had a pre-existing condition? Those that did should have been protected at all cost.
Unfortunately, that's what happens during a pandemic; particularly one that spreads the worst during fall/winter time.
Nah just constantly reflecting about how screwed we are when people don't even expend minimal effort to examine whether something is made up or not - only if it fits what they want to believe or are told to believe.
