Only two spots away from being an 8. Not nearly as ridiculous of an assertion as some were trying to make it seem like before the show.

Some people on here were talking about a 6 seed. Saying we wouldn't fall any lower, because of our resume.

Regardless the committee used a little eye test on this squad. Regardless they still got a good draw. Didn't get another Power 5 team out of the gate, get to play a decent Temple squad, but they should be able to compete with them.

Michigan was below Vandy, VCU and Syracuse. yet Mich's losses were to Xavier, Iowa (2), Purdue (2), Maryland, MSU, Indy (1/1). 8 of their 12 were losses to Top 25. Syracuse was beat by PItt 3 times.

I would say the L to Wisky at home was the killer. Had to have that one for seeding in the both the Big Ten Tournament & NCAA.

Yet the committee claims its the entire season that counts. bullcrap. This is subjective business and obviously the latter half of the season holds more weight.

Honestly, they way they seeded, I'm surprised we weren't lower. I will take a 7 seed.

How is Seton Hall a 6 seed as well? They beat the #2 seeds 3 times this past week!!

This committee really crapped the bed and I am sure there will be people upset all over the nation.

I will take a 7 seed and our draw. I realize we have to play a #2 again, but if you want to win it all, you have to play them sometime.

The committee did not have a good year.

MSU a 2 seed. The next highest Big 10 team was a five seed. This is despite the fact that Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Maryland are all ranked in the top 20. Yet somehow every Pac-12 team got a bid.

Pressure should be off (or at least light). No expectations for this team to get to the Sweet 16.

Late season collapses and early exits from a conference tournament will hurt your seeding. All the Hawkeyes have to do is get their act together and win a couple of games in the Big Dance to start earning some respect again.

Not really, dipshit.

This shows how close we were to an 8. Several people proclaimed that it was not possible. This shows that it certainly was.
It wasn't possible, we weren't an 8 seed you knuckle dragger. Seriously how stupid are you. You lose an argument, then you come back to say you were almost right? Go brush your tooth.

STFU. I am about done with this fricking board. Keep digging idiots.

Honestly, who cares? We are in and actually got a pretty good draw. Lets see if the boys can right the ship and win some games. Ball is in their court. No pressure, just play and have fun guys.
Lol, Villanova is much better than us. If we do not lose to Temple because they aren't hitting 3s, Nova will do us in. Then we get to listen to people complain about losing in the 2nd round again.

Glad you are laughing. Good to keep a smile on your face. Villanova is better than us, don't recall saying otherwise. However. If Iowa plays like they did in January, do you think Iowa stands a chance in hell to beat nova? I sure do.

If people don't believe bias is involved you are ridiculous. The committee has bias and Iowa's late season tumble "reputation" factor into their seeding as well as down Big 10. Just as Iowa State's "reputation" since Hoiberg and Niang hype plus playing in Big 12 benefited them this year. Until no humans are used in the selection process, human bias will exist.

I would like Iowa to play like they did in January just to have a chance to beat Temple. But to answer your question.....no, I do not.

Who at ISU has pictures on the Oklahoma AD? A 4 over Indiana? WHAT?

Ouch. It used to be they wouldn't even tell us the last team in. With the current First Four now they basically have to. Anyway, this overall seed list being public, while apparently not new, is relatively new.

A couple of votes either way and Iowa drops down to 8, you fuking fagg0t. Certainly it was possible.

This would be like me proclaiming it is IMPOSSIBLE for Iowa to lose in the 1st round. Absolutely no chance. Then we win on a buzzer beater in the 4th OT and I come back and proclaim my prognosticating brilliance.

Just because the final result ended up matching the random prediction does not mean that an alternate outcome was not possible, you goat-raping pedophile.
