Hopefully this loss will eat at em, they do some soul searching and play mad in the big dance. If there's a silver lining, as a team (not counting Jok & Uthoff) it was the worst game they played all season and probably the best game Illinois played all season and Iowa still had a chance at the end. To be honest I didn't see Iowa getting past Purdue so if this loss lights a fire under them it may be what they need to win a couple in the NCAA tourney.

Seems they've been resting the last month!
Iowa has trended down the last month for sure but that's due to a nightmarish team shooting slump. It's amazing how good or bad a team looks depends on if the shots are falling.

Or you could say that outside of Uthoff and Jok, this is not a very good (maybe even bad?) shooting team that played out of their minds for three weeks in January.

Did the one trombone player turn the right way and the rest of the marching band turn the wrong way, or did the one guy get it wrong and everyone else was right?

It will also help for the returning players to have the 2 extra days' rest for next year when they lose the first round NCAA game vs. 2 days less rest if they won.

This team doesn't have a competitive bone in their body. That's the problem, I don't think it does eat at them. What I do know is they don't do the necessary things to make it right. They sure talk a good game in their interviews though.

Never played in a marching band but have played basketball and know that ALL teams have shooting slumps, unfortunately some slumps last longer then others. Look at the team shooting stats for Iowa before and after this losing streak, it tells the whole story. I know Iowa stats but if I was to guess I would wager every team that beat them shot at or better than their average. Basketball isn't complicated, the team that puts the ball through the hoop more than the other wins.
