What are the qualifications to be President in your mind?

Trump has made me realize I have some hard lines I won’t cross to support a candidate:
  1. Upholds the principles and standards of our Republic. This includes honoring our laws, institutions and constitution. It also includes understanding the value of military service and sacrifice.
  2. An above average understanding of the above. You don’t have to be a scholar, but you do need to know how the branches of government actually work.
  3. Clean record and generally good character: no felonies, no hint of anything that could have been a felony
  4. Someone who actually understands, and can empathize with, what life is like for average people in the US
  5. Smart enough that I could hold an intelligent conversation on a wide variety of topics with them. We might disagree but at least they can form logical thoughts.
Once we get beyond those minimum standards I look at policy. If you are too far left or too far right I don’t consider your views appropriate for leading our country forward. This was my concern initially with Kamala, but she has pivoted toward the middle.
She is lying of course.

Understands the Constitution and shows a willingness to uphold it even if there are personal differences.
Understands basic economics and fiscal responsibility, and has demonstrated some expertise.
Has a track record of surrounding himself / herself with quality people, and the ability to manage them.
Is well educated on recent world history (20th and 21st centuries) and the motivational drivers of different regions of the world.
Has the ability to listen to different points of view, and act objectively rather than politically.
Demonstrates a leadership presence.
Sounds great.

Let us know when someone who meets even half those requirements runs for POTUS.

Excessive Blood Alcohol content: If the BAC of the driver is higher than specified amount (often twice the legal limit) most states consider the offense a felony. This is because this high level signifies an extreme level of intoxication and lack of safety.

What other stupid questions do you want answered?
Show your work dipshit. Also, please justify how someone with a felony charge should be the president of the USA. Can’t wait to hear this lol.

Show my work? This is a message board not 3rd grade math. You're a moron who doesn't know what a felony dui is, it's not my job to be your educator.

I've heard KH is the most unqualified person all the way to she is the most qualified from folks.

Bush was deemed qualified with his background in running businesses and Obama was unqualified because his main CV showed law degree and community organizer (with a short stint in the Senate) but it should be pretty clear who was the better President.

Constitutionally the only quals are - the President must be at least 35 years of age, be a natural born citizen, and must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years so from that perspective, all presidents are equally qualified but I think its clear those quals are a low barrier to entry.

How do you define who is minimally qualified for being POTUS?
1. Inspire people from all walks.
2. Don’t sound like a dumbass talking off the cuff

Obama and Bill Clinton about the only qualified POTUS I’ve seen since I was old enough to understand.

I defined it for you. Do you think, given the actual definition, that it should be a disqualifier?
Often a minor DUI can be a misdemeanor If it's your first offense... but if you're a 20 year old college student who left a party at 2AM and spent that night doing keg bombs and chugging shots, and blow 2 or three times or more the legal limit, you can and often are charged with a felony.

Fast forward 30 years, should you be disqualified to be President?

That's not the case in Florida. I'll post it again so you can stop shying away from the question.

Here is what would get you a felony dui in Florida. And yes, it should be a disqualifier.

In Florida, a DUI can be classified as a felony in the following circumstances:

Fourth or subsequent DUI
Any fourth or subsequent DUI conviction is automatically classified as a third-degree felony.

Serious bodily injury
A DUI that results in serious bodily injury to another person is charged as a third-degree felony.

DUI manslaughter
A DUI that results in the death of another person is charged as a second-degree felony.

Property damage
A DUI that results in significant property damage can be elevated to a felony.
