I just finished 'Terry', again. I won't blab on about how much I love this film and how good it makes me feel to have loved the Iowa Hawkeye wrestling program for over 30 years now. I will simply say that the film captures just about everything that has made it easy for me to be passionate about the teams, wrestlers and coaches that have represented the University of Iowa since I started watching in the early 80's as a young kid from rural Iowa.

That said, I would love to hear from the rest of you guys and gals...what were some of your favorite quotes from the movie? There are dozens of good ones. I will name one more....the one that probably meant the most to me: "The guy was hurting bad and the guy that he needed the most, Coach Gable, was there." - Tom Brands

There were so many gems in this documentary that I need to go back and write them down. The one that comes to mind right now is the "You get what you earn." Then he went on to say something like if you don't want it to happen again, change it.

The way his voice gets stronger and louder when he says "again" really sticks out. The hurt he felt left a big scar.

T8KUDWN,

As good as that quote is, it really doesn't give the situation justice. He wanted to say several different things and realized he couldn't. How long it took him to give a relatively "safe for television" answer was very telling.............

I agree 100%. I would love to have a beer with Duroe and just listen to stories. That guy has been around these guys and this program for a long time.

I agree, Duroe really had to think hard on how he was going to answer the question. And you know Terry isn't afraid of anyone with the "Get out of my way, I'll take you out" comment because I'm 99% sure that was mountain of a man Tolly Thompson he was talking to.

It's not a quote, but the scene where Tom chokes up is pretty powerful.

Also you got love Terry for the simple fact that one of his favorite movies is The Man from Snowy River.

"I can't say I ever looked forward to wrestling them" I thought the stuff from Kendall Cross was very good, what a history he had with both. In 1989 NCAAs Tom had already knocked off Kelber and if he beats Cross he may have won 4 titles. That is from memory though, may be wrong.

I don't have it down as an exact quote, but Terry was talking about how he evaluates wrestlers...he said something along the lines of the first thing I look for when measuring how good a wrestler is watching how they fight.

Beautiful
