Currently The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. I wanted something light and fun. This is a story of a retired female pirate pulled back into the life and getting her old gang back together. Fantasy but takes place on Earth in Middle East area. I'm enjoying it.

Parable of the Sower - Octavia E. Butler
The Age of Magical Overthinking - Amanda Montell
Hitler's People: The Faces of the Third Reich - Richard J Evans

Re-reading Churchill's The Second World War. This time I am trying to figure out when he is covering up the info that came from Ultra.
Ultra was still a secret into the 1960s.

Just finishing "Book of (more) Delights" - Ross Gay
-About 75 essayettes of what delights poet Ross Gay. It's a beautiful book, but also a bit grittier than "Book of Delights" as he also talk about things that do not delight him. Very light, quick read. Each essay is like 3 pages. You don't need to read Book of Delights to understand any context in this book as every essay is different.

About 3/4 through "Such a Young Age" - Kiley Reid
-About a black babysitter caught between her new white boyfriend and her new white employer (who also used to date her boyfriend).

About to start "Holly" - Stephen King
-No idea gif.

About to start "Holly" - Stephen King

I finished Holly yesterday. The Bill Hodges and Holly Gibney series really grew on me. I initially started with Holly until I realized I was going out of order then I went back and did them in order. Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End of Watch, Outsider, If it Bleeds, Holly.

f*ck. should I do this? I haven't read any of those.

Confessions of a Puppetmaster by Charles Band

Loved his cheesy, low budget horror movies in the 90s. Dude has lived a life.

I would start with Mr Mercedes in the Bill Hodges series. You will get introduced to a lot of characters that will be there into the Holly book. Mr Mercedes is also a three season series on some streamer so that's a bonus if you finish the Bill Hodges trilogy.

Just finished “Creation Lake” by Rachel Kushner. It made a bunch of best of 2024 lists. It was OK.

Just started “No Beast So Fierce” about a tiger that ate 436 Indians.

I don't ready any books these days.

I need to get back in the habit.

I've been doing online crosswords lately which at least work the mind a little.

Audiobooks count. you can prob get a libby pass through your library.

I typically have 1 book at home for free time, and 1 audiobook for my commute.
