What are your Thanksgiving travel plans?

None. Small family gathering for Turkey and the usual sides at our house. I’ll be anxiously awaiting for the last relative to leave. My only holiday travel will be a 90 mile trip to MO on Friday or Saturday for a weed run.

We were originally supposed to drive to the no pic’s family in Ohio. Unfortunately the no pic had to have emergency surgery and is recovering in the hospital. So looks like it will be a quiet thanksgiving. None the less I have an abundance of thanks that she is on the mend and for the fine doctors, nurses and aides that have cared for her. This year more than most I am thankful for our medical professionals.

No travel. My (no pic) daughter is flying in from Jax tomorrow and our son live in town. My cousin and is partner are in town from Miami and we'll see them on Friday.

Day trip to my son’s father-in-law in Southern Maryland. Just 15 people, but awfully big by our standards. We were going to spend the night and do karaoke, but no pic has a new job and doesn’t get day after Thanksgiving off.

No travel this year. Two sons, DIL future DIL and grandson getting together Thursday night for appetizers and game night. Friday a big batch of chili and cornbread for football viewing. No big meal this year but we’ll make up for it at Christmas.

Nothing, staying here in Long Beach. But, as tradition, I go with my friends to their big family gathering. The dude's family is Mexican, and her's is Salvadorian.

They make traditional foods from their countries along with turkey, mashed potatoes, and all that stuff.

Home for the holiday and reheating a Sprout's cooked meal. Friday night flying to Lauderdale and then boarding a cruise on Saturday morning at 10:30am!
We have a Sprouts opening near us. I’ve never heard of them before. Are they good?

I will travel from CR to my home town of Dubuque Wednesday night. Wake up early and help my no pic Mom with the meal. I cook the bird and help with the fixings. I leave after meal. Have to work Friday. I like preparing the feast more than eating or anything else.

Thanksgiving here in town at the TBE's....gathering of 20-25. I fry a couple birds. Will try not to burn down the neighborhood. Saturday am headed to Ames for the game. Will have my nut warmer along.

What's a "nut warmer?"

Don't forget the most important rule when frying a turkey- make sure you drop it in the oil right out of the freezer!

2.5 hour drive south to my sisters place. This could be my mom’s last Thanksgiving so going to make the best of it.
I’m sorry to hear that although I had heard she wasn’t doing well.

I have a short drive to my mom and bonus dad’s. Siblings and their families will be there as well as a few nieces and nephews. One niece flying home from Montana State so that will be a good time. Me gusta el aubiendo.

Only crummy thing is my daughter and her husband flew to Atlanta to see his family and my son is in North Dakota with his GF. That part is a little bit of a bummer.

People are sooooo stupid. Simply turn the propane off before dropping the bird in case it boils over. No fire that way. Once everything is good, turn it on again.

Bout to hop in the car for a road trip back to Iowa. I only get home about once a year anymore so we always look forward to it. Turkey, football and card/board games all day Thursday and off to a friends bar Friday to watch the hawks!! Then back in the car and head home Saturday. It has become a tradition to listen to the osu/Michigan game on the radio while driving home.
