His pace and attacks are not what they used to be. The end of 2020 was IMO the best we have seen him wrestling. That said he did lose in the dual to Cenzo that year so maybe he can use this loss to elevate his game because he is not winning nationals with what I've seen so far this year.
I agree. And while I like some fire in our guys, didn't like his talking in this case. Shake hands, and show it next time ON THE MAT.
Gonna need a heckuva lot better effort from Bull or another March collapse might be on the table.
Speaking of what someone said. One of the Brands had a nice soundbite I think it was during the Assad match during the last few seconds of the 2nd period.
Bull seems gassed more often this year. But then, he did have to chase Karchla for the first 6 minutes of the match.

There wasn't much chasing going on. All I saw was a ton of hand fighting. He needs to lead by example.
Well said. This loss may turn out to be the best thing for him in the long run-- we hope so at least.
I really like TNT and respect everything they represent and espouse. IMO they are among the most important people in the sport bc of the ethics they bring. With that said….I personally don’t like coaches yelling a lot of instruction to their athlete during competition. I feel like the instructing should happen in the wrestling room. I guess what I’m saying is I trust in TNT I wish they would demonstrate more trust in these fantastic athletes and let them navigate the match with less handling,,,,if that makes sense. Then again maybe TNT have asked each wrestler what they want out of the corner and the guys say to be vocal it does seem like they tailor the content of their comments. Sorry, thinking out loud and being picky.

Uh what?! Whenever I've heard guys talk about what they want from their corner during matches, just about everyone says they want to see the coaches fired up and barking because it gets them fired up. AA said as much in his interview just last week. No one on this team wants a coach who passively warms a chair during their matches... No one. Tom and Terry are intense and that part of their personality comes out during matches. Everyone knows this and I'd be totally shocked if there's a guy on the team who's come to Iowa and asked the coaches to change their coaching style for him. That being said, i see the Brands mellowing somewhat as they age. However, i don't ever expect them to be the quiet type during a match when a Hawkeye is wrestling.
This. With a bit of foam at the mouth. I think Marinelli will get him next time. Have they wrestled before? If not it was very good for him to get a feel for this kid before big tens/nationals.

Im sure they’ve never wrestled. When Bull was in HS Kharchla would have been like 12.
better for him to lose in the regular season. he looked pissed off after that match and I like it. plus he is cursed as the number 1 seed so now that’s off the table

what Do Tom/terry do with the team to promote the mental side of the sport? Sports psychologists? meditation?
Hypnosis? Ive alway wondered why/ how PSU guys seem to have a mental edge,
Hamiti long and quick, he's got a lot of stuff from all positions.
Everybody says stuff like this as if he lost to guys who had no business being in there with him. He won big 10’s three times, one of those years the tournament gets cancelled so that doesn’t count than the other 2 years he got a terrible draw and lost to the eventual national champ. His worst loss in those 3 years is chance marsteller who is pretty damn good.
