What did RK do to get the technical?

Oh no, the horror of telling someone to eat shit after a foul. It was a big-time homer call, but completely expected at this point this season.

There has been a lot of talking after plays this year. I assume the league is trying to clean it up a bit. They are not going to want to see cheap shots, fights, etc that seem to be grabbing the headlines recently.

The Maryland defender started the conversation and Ryan responded. Terrible call by the official,.. If anything, you give both players a warning and play on ..
That's my problem with the call.
Im jit big on the crap talking but if your going to burn up guys fouls you better damn well hit them all for the same thing.
Garza got one against Wisc and I saw at least a dozen times the Wisc players were flapping their mouths.

To me the players are all so good anymore a little trash talk is stupid. Every player yells after a dunk....big deal! That's not intimidation. I'm sure after telling the Maryland player to "eat sh&t" the player was shaking in his shoes. Just play the game and the refs will have one less thing to decipher what's bad and what's ok.

Two big pet peeves of mine.

1)The "NBA Way" is in full swing in college basketball...meaning where players complain about everything to officials etc. Is a carry even part of the rule book anymore?

2) Coaches out of the coaches box when the ball is in play.

Thanks for letting me vent. Good day.

With your #2 point one case that always sticks in my mind was Marble's senior year at home vs Mich. St. A game we lost in OT where the technical fts came back to haunt us. I remember during the game Fran got a T for being out of the coaching box. Jay Bilas calling the game was critical of the call with the timing of it coming out of no where when Fran wasn't even blowing up at the officials. He also said you can make that call on either coach a dozen times a game. Then he pointed out 2-3x shortly after how Izzo was at half court and the refs weren't doing anything about it. To no surprise I'm pretty sure it was Hightower or TV Teddy calling that game.

As for Kriener you could tell by his teammates expression (it was evelyn or pemsl) next to him that he shouldn't have said what he said before the ref even T'd him up by his body language and trying to push him back.

The way they review EVERYTHING I was surprised they didn't review the contact to see if the head contact was an attempt to play the ball.
Really, I don't get that rule at all. Its the most ambiguos rule out there. We've all seen Iowa players hit in the face or head dozens of times this season, and upon review it never anything at all. No flagrant 1, nothing. Hell Garza has been lying on the floor bleeding badly three different times, and nothing. The purpose of this rule was supposed to be to eliminate all these blows to the head, and they have done very little if anything about any of it. Just another case, like football, where these reviews do little more then waste time.

If my lip reading is decent I think he told someone to consume feces.

Yes. Basically what will get you T'ed up nowaday is anything construed as "taunting." What Kriener did was pretty tame, but just can't do it. Apparently Iowa is the only team that does this as the opponent never gets called for it.

I am shocked at the level of disagreement that players are allowed to show with calls or non-calls, however. Cowan and Forsell basically sprinted across the floor on foul calls with nothing done. That's okay, I'm generally good with T's not being called for anything short of personally insulting the referee. Just apply some level of consistency.

How dare he curse! Won't someone think of the children?

All the tools saying shut up & play are lame, trash talk is part of the game.

It's been long overdue to start cleaning up the some of the garbage going on as far as players yelling profanities whether making a play or getting a foul called on them....and that's just the Women's games anymore....geesh I saw a bit of Ohio st and Maryland WBB and looked like 2 street gangs playing a pickup game with all the tattoos and profanities mouthed....they did call 2 Technicals finally for 'taunting", which you really haven't seen before, so maybe the Officials in the league are going to make an effort to clean it up some.

they had better get more detailed rules in place.

we don't need refs making more "subjective" decisions.....clearly they aren't cut out for it!

Are you telling me the majority of games, nothing is said that is as bad or worse than "eat shit"?

I think the bastards should be required to mention what was said!

We obviously have different standards for what is and is not appropiate. Is it suppose to be a family atmosphere or not? I certainly don't want to hear it.
We sure do LOL.
I'd say we have more important things to worry about than shielding our kids from the word "shit". I imagine they aren't allowed anywhere near a tv or the internet.
To each their own I guess.......

Don't hit me in the head in your face you piece of shit mother ****ing clown **** ass wagon.
.

He got hit in the head twice. Hard too. Watch the replay... The Maryland defender should have gotten the technical, not RK. Both hits were worse than the Davidson ball shot.

Ref should have told him that if he hears him talk that way again, I will T you up. Give a little warning. Could also say that to Coach.

You don’t make one good play and start being mouthy. It was his fault.

He got mouthy because he got smacked in the face.

This appears to be a problem for Garza and Kriener. They need to be tough without losing their cool.

You know that “shit” is “poop” right? If he would have said “Eat poop” would that have been less offensive to you?
