I don’t find any record of him ever coaching at UIC…he’s won 81% of his games.I don't know yet. D2 stallion. Awesome year but lost at UIC.
Lost their last game at UICI don’t find any record of him ever coaching at UIC…he’s won 81% of his games.
Gotcha….. I guess I would look at the overall record. I think Devries would be the guy IF we can get him…if not, I think this guy would be a good choice.Lost their last game at UIC
I know he isn’t squeaky clean - he got fired at bowling green after someone recorded him drunkenly slapping a women’s backside at a college bar. That alone might put Iowa officials off of him.Take a look at and vet Chris Jans.
Decade and a half and Iowa still plays zero defense or rebounds as a Team, They only play token defense and token rebound when they have 1 or 2 Players on the roster who excel at it but it is not the norm , oh and how many NCAA tourney wins has that fraud Fran won at Iowa in 15 Years and People are actually debating whether He should be fired? He should have been fired long ago if Barta wasnt the biggest mental midget to ever be put in charge of large amounts of money , I would dig up the bones of Frank Lauterbur and know His remains sitting in a bag on Fran's seat would improve the Iowa Coaching and recruiting and He wasn't even a basketball Coach .
How many tournament games has he won? It’s one game. Shit happens. Heck, two times defending champion Connecticut was blown out by Dayton earlier this season. How the team responds in future games will be telling.
I think he is the fallback option, and I personally would be a little disappointed with this pick. How about Steve Forbes at Wake Forest? Already has 2 Iowa guys on staff. He's a proven winner at different levels. Not sure if he would have interest, but certainly worth the look.
Alan Huss was a former McDermott assistant at Creighton. Won the Big South COTY in his first year as a D1 coach.Never heard of them.

Forbes might have been a hire 5 years ago. But I think that would be a lateral hire for Beth and probably wouldn't inspire much excitement around here. How about Steve Forbes at Wake Forest? This is exactly why Tom Davis was set free. People were saying this about him as well and they weren't wrong.10 creampuff OOC wins each year and 7 or so B1G wins against mostly bad B1G Teams and then get a NIT invite or actually get in the Tourney and get bounced is Fran at Iowa in a nutshell and Barta swallowed the hook, People who have seen good Teams and good Coaching for Years and do not live in a biased bubble know Fran is not a Coach who will ever take a Team to the final 4 , EVER. Fire Him at end of Season if He does not retire and get a Guy who can actually Coach all phases and can recruit better than an intern .
At a school like Iowa in the NIL era, an exciting hire is really critical. I’m a substance over style guy generally, but you have to get a coach who will excite the fanbase to open their wallet.I just want someone that excites the fan base.
It would definitely be worth a phone call. What about Chris Collins for our next coach?
I always liked him & would like to see what he could do with a little better talent.
Plus he might be ready for a change.
He’s done all he can do at Northwestern.
It’s happened before, so yeah, go for it.Also, can I get a coaching job at Iowa? Just get straight up paid for mediocre results.
