My wife and I were talking about where we are going to go to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in a couple of years, and I was reminiscing about how much fun we had on our honeymoon kayaking up and around Vancouver Island. We went on a 4 day group kayaking tour with a chef that would prepare all the meals (tons of seafood,) as well as provide awesome booze and wine. We would see Orcas and other wildlife every day, then camp under the stars each night, then spent another week on the western coast of Vancouver Island. I would love to repeat this trip, but having a 3 year old around the 10th anniversary time would probably prevent it.

What did you do for your honeymoon?

I either...

A) Never went on a honeymoon
-or-
B) Have been on one big, long continuous one for almost 26 years.

Yeah, I'm picking A.

To bad I just celebrated my 32nd year of one continuous honeymoon.

Considering there have been a few fairly big chunks of time where the missus and I were separated for months or more by my job...yeah, that wasn't a honeymoon. The together parts have been pretty good.

Aspen. We both love the place.

So it was you, your wife, and a chef in the kayak? Cozy.

No, the chef had his own kayak. There was also someone that dropped the cooking supplies off at each campsite, as well as our camping supplies. Not exactly roughing it I will admit. My wife and I shared a sea kayak.

Punta Cana for a week. Ive been to much nicer islands but there was something nice about going to an all-inclusive and sitting on a beach for a week without any time-consuming excursions.

St. Lucia. It is a beautiful little island with some fun things to do (Boat tour, waterfalls, mud baths, hot springs, old fort ruins, amazing peaks to hike if you want... plus scuba or snorkel). Or, you can sit on a beach. We did a little of both and loved each moment there.

We head to Punta at the end of Feb... looking forward to that.

We got married in Jacksonville, FL on a Sat

We spent Sunday at a hotel there and went to the zoo.

Went to Charleston, SC and I think we spent Mon, Tues, Wed there

Then went to a cabin in the blue ridge mountains in Georgia and spent Thurs, Fri there.

Traveled to our home in Indiana on Saturday.

For our 10 year we did a Vancouver Island trip (5 days on the west coast of the island and a 2 days in Vancouver itself) and had a wonderful time. Find someone to watch the 3 year old.

A 10 year anniversary trip should be spent with you and your wife; not you, your wife, and child (that felt like Lute advice without the weird formatting).

Yes, I know it would be for my wife and I. It's just a matter of getting our parents to watch Steven jr for a week or so.

Oddly enough we went to Vancouver Island. Stayed at a B&B around Qualicum Beach.

Don't recall the name, but it was owned by a former British RAF pilot and his wife. Remeber some awesome photos and stories over breakfast one morning.

Beautiful area, planning on returning for our 30th

Your parents will love watching them (provided they have the free time). If they live out of town, fly them in and have them stay at your place so the little one can some what stay in their routine.

Seriously, don't skimp on this one Steve.

Bahamas and P-town. Went during the Battle for Atlantis two years ago and watched the Hawks, relaxed on the beach at the RIU all inclusive resort, and played "just the tip" and "hide the pickle" under the sheets.

I was wondering the same thing. A group Honeymoon. Kinky. :)

My wife of 33 years and I lived in Hawaii when we got married. Spent our honeymoon on Kauai (lived on Oahu).

Money really isn't an issue. It's just sorting out the logistics of convincing one set of parents to either come out here for an extended period, or dropping the youngin' off in Iowa, then fly out of a small airport elsewhere, which seems like more of a hassle.

We went on a 5 day kayaking tour with a chef and a masseuse. Then spent a week and a half on the western coast of Vancouver Island.

I have a ten year coming up next year and thinking about going to Branson or something big like that.

Steven, did you have a separate tent from your chef, or, did you go all Dances With Wolves?

Jamaica. Could not have been a better experience and I refuse to go anywhere else on a "tropical" vacation. Nicest people I have ever met and no language barrier (big deal for me on trips).

We've talked about doing South Africa or Australia for our 10 year (still 7 years away)... I just want to go back to Jamaica
