We did it this year. Can't even have them in a pocket - if we see the outline, it's gone. If they have ear buds in, we take the phone they're attached to. It's been awesome.Then they graduate and head out into the world with smartphones.
Besides the fact there’s probably no way to roll this out to public schools, it feels to me like the “Just say no” anti-drug campaigns we had in the 80s. Or churches preaching abstinence.
